Again no connection . I really like this one , it's a 58 . I'm pretty sure I could ride a 58 in the street . I had a 58 velodrome bike , but that's a different animal . Oh well my 56 CIM fits like a glove . OOOPs it is a 61 .

The color on that Inland Empire bike is the same color as the SR Semi Pro I just acquired. It really comes alive in the sunlight. Candy Apple, baby!

It's a 62 cm.
Everybody knows what isn't original on this bike. But if someone from this forum gets this bike, I think I have the correct gold rear wheel.
Although an 86 I'd venture to say that frameset is from 85.

Back in 2006 when I was looking for a 86 classic, I knew I wanted a 54cm. Whether it had the original components was of little consequence because I knew I was up grading to "top of the line" dura ace from that period anyways. Then I found a sweet 54cm in what appeared to be mint condition on the bay. (I don't think I was even aware of craigslist). I mean this thing must've been ridden a handful of times then garaged. I was aware of the going rate at the time. So I knew I was gonna win it with my ridiculous 600.00 dollar bid. Winning bid 601.00. I couldn't Believe it.
I eventually won me an 86. But it wasn't in great shape, no matter,I had my friend clear coat it warts and all. Then using sir Sheldon Browns site I was able to get the correct sizes in components. And in my eyes, it shines like brand new. The one thing I couldn't figure out is how it got the scrapes on the DT, right where the shift levers are. It had the original shifters and the bosses weren't bent. Head scratcher. Anybody know? ,as I've seen others with the same scrape.
Ok I'm through with my insomnia ramble. Later.

Brake caliper when bar swung to R?
Usually hits just before the bar hits the TT.
Then you check the TT, and are relieved that there's no dent.
Until you see the gouge on the DT about a week later.

I think the Merckx is a good deterrent, it says "back off, I'm cooler than you and she deserves me."

These bikes are just so cool. I have trouble finding a succinct but a fully encompassing way to explain my full appreciation for the craftsmanship and design that goes into these bikes. But I suppose the 55 pages of this thread are a testament to the fact that you guys "get it". And in line with the thread title, the paint jobs are just fantastic. Anywho, I've posted this one here before but I found myself tinkering with a photo of mine the other day. I don't necessarily find that I'm much for selective color photos. But I couldn't help it. The teal color scheme gets me every time.

Nice. To sum up my thoughts and admiration for your bike and not so succinctly.
It is ready for anything. A tri, a road race , a group ride, a trip to the store, a climb in the hills, and finally first place at a bike show. Great job, love that pink.

....and the chicks dig it.

Jerseys

My friend that designed some has just received his first shipment of some he did for a community college, and they look outstanding. I didn't go there, but I bought one. I will now see if he's got time to work on one for me. I'm taking into account two Centurion jerseys I have (one is easily 70's, and looks it, one has got to be 1989, and is great). Plus, we'll look at the jersey worn by the racers, and the one on the front of the catalog. The one on the catalog is similar to my 1989 jersey.

When he finishes his design stuff, perhaps I'll post them for votes, but perhaps I'll just post the one I pick and take orders.
Not that I'm king; I just like a simple life.

I'm in for a jersey. Just so long as they come in "generous" sizing. I'm not 16 anymore.

My bud made them for the community college, and there's already a run on the XL's and XXL's. I'll end up with an L, but I can (presently) fit in one just fine....

I remember rccardr had one and he regrettably got rid of it. Don't let it get away. Good luck.
Update us on that 89. Did you end up parting it out? A cool flip flop would be to put the components from the last year CIM (89) on that first year CIM 85. Just a thought. The possibilities........

I'll Have Another

This Master was listed for over a week at below FMV, I just don't understand the lack of demand. Bought from original owner, who just had a CF built by his brother in East Bay CA, 11 speed electric shift Ultegra.

I will save the bar tape for you @OldsCOOL.

Out of curiosity and if you don't mind sharing, was it listed over or under $400?

The '89 is alive and well in all-original, very low mileage condition. I don't see that changing. However, if I ride it in a century or something, I'm pulling the post/saddle together and swapping in another post/saddle my hind parts are more agreeable with....

With the help of a couple of BF members, I'm working on the '85. A lot has to happen; sometimes it does.

I had posted a few back that there was one like that on Houston CL for 190.00. But it's gone now. It had been there a while. It was in excellent condition.

What you do with a red Master is pull the DT and seat stay decals, get identical ones from VeloCals in black, and then rebuild that bad boy with all black components.

Or, get a Sante Group, white housing, saddle, wrap, cages, but black hoods.
