Having not ridden outside since the 4th of December, I am ITCHING to ride tomorrow. I already outfitted the Litespeed with lights, saddle bag, Garmin head unit and Varia. Laid out toe booties, warm gloves, thermal skull cap, and food. Re-checked the fit of my new jacket from LeCol.

It's a joiner(jointer?) It's usually used to make flat, square edges on boards to be glued up into panels. However, it can make other repeatable angles as well, and can also be used to flatten one surface, before running it through a thickness planer. This guarantees that not only are the sides parallel, but also that they are both flat, as opposed to being twisted, or bowed.

6093 miles, both IRL and ITG (In The Garage) so far this year. Only 4757 IRL, and with only another 2 weeks this year it's unlikely I'll get to 5000. BUT per Bam's formula, I can count 6093.
EDIT: Last year's total was 6146 total, so I should beat that handily. Maybe even tomorrow. IRL miles didn't quite make it to 4000, so I'm ahead there. It'd be nice to get to 5000 miles IRL, but that's 4 x 60 miles or 6 x 40 miles. Or some combination. We'll see, but I'm not gonna kill myself for an imaginary milestone.

I am 321 miles away from my yearly goal. I would like to think all 321 will be “real” but I don’t think that will happen. Lord knows I will try though. I can be pretty stubborn when I want to be. New wheels will help keep the cold at bay for a couple of miles atleast.

Dern tootin'. I try to never pay retail. A few months back I picked up 2 pair of their best bibs for half price, which made them as cheap as the Louis Garneau's I've been wearing for years. I thought I really liked the LGs, till I wore the LeCols.

My 30 day heart monitoring ended today and I shipped the device back. I did not hear from my Cardiologist this week but that is not surprising. I'll work from home on Monday and I'll message her office for an answer. I worked outside around the house today for about 3 hours and I am depleted and sore. Tomorrow will be worse. It was raw and damp outside for most of the day.

At that point, I was so busy with maneuvering and hauling the jointer that I didn't even think about the game until 3:30pm or so, at which point it should have been done. I checked to see the final score and was shocked to see that it was just heading in to OT, so I tuned in to watch the rest.
Watching Vikings games is just not for the weak of heart, this year.

I have no faith, but if y'all can beat out the Cowboys or Eagles, I'll be happy. Or the Bucs, if it comes to that.

The Bucs need to get their ish together in a quick way. I grew up there in the 80s when we were 2-14 every year, so I’ll take the two Super Bowls, but we’re not going to be competitive in the playoffs at our current pace.

how do we feel about top tube bags? i kind of hate all bags, at least i think i do, but have an unsupported century planned tomorrow and want to bring a few more things than usual. a small battery for the phone, co2/inflator, bars, minitool, not much but more than my usual "keys and a credit card in the pocket" approach.
are my legs going to hit this out of the saddle?!?!

Man, I should not have hiked that hill two days in a row. Vastus lateralises are wrecked, and I never did buy any of those roller dealies that everyone swears by.

Today we did 77 miles and it was dragged out by various factors. A couple guys were struggling early but one of them got going and finished strong. The other one had bitten off more than he should have and had a tough time and kept getting dropped and we kept waiting. He was even getting a little loopy.
It was good to not be last and even maintain contact with the back of the group. Pretty wiped out now, though.

Snow depth stop sign! Apparently WYDOT is mad that the stop sign was defaced in such a fashion.
UPDATE: WYDOT will remove graffiti from the stop sign on Togwotee Pass. Please refrain from this practice. Thank you.
Citizens are having fun at the expense of a stop sign and web camera on Togwotee Pass between Dubois and Moran Junction

I'm more of a bar bag guy but maybe that's because my toptube bag is super cheep and doesn't like to stay on top of the top tube very well. My knees hit mine even when it's where it belongs, but a couple of companies make super skinny bento boxes that my knees don't contact.
