LOL, yea Bigfoot is kitted out for getting to/from work ATM. The timing is actually impeccable. Got these sorted out and working just in time to have my car die....so I'm Car Free, for a while at a minimum.

SIDENOTE:

Remember the 15mm CL lockring shenanigans I pulled upthread? Well....something was hinky. Why? The new lockring didn't clamp the rotor tight even when torqued. There was maybe a 1/2mm of play. Just enough to rattle and make noise. Which is odd as these are new Shimano R800 rotors and this is the new 2018 (they changed the design actually) 15mm+ centerlock lockring. WTF.

So I swapped my old HB20 lockring onto the Onyx/R800 rotors, and put the new lockring on my old wheels....and they worked as expected on their opposite wheels.

More likely just substituting other parts without regard to whether they will work or not.

Well the old lockring HB-20 is being phased out:

The included lockring with the CL/ISO adapter isn't that (the new ring I have doesn't have that raised flange)...so they have yet another lockring out there to just not use.

People are free to do whatever they want, I guess, but the need to bring liquor on a bike ride suggests, at a minimum, a misplaced sense of propriety.

I'd go ride somewhere else if someone pulled that thing out during a ride.

Dunno what to tell you but a lot of gravel rides revolve around alcohol. Hell the Belgian Waffle Ride which is probably the biggest gravel race in the US after the Dirty Kanza is held at a brewery and they're the second largest sponsor after Canyon.

Cowchippers, Mallet 2 pedals, and some super bright Deda tape that was on sale for like 7 bucks. Not sure about the tape. Think I should have gone more for the yellow that matches the decals more.

The Cowchippers are great. Got 44cm as I was hesitant about the 46 but now I think I should have gone 46. Very comfy bar though and the the drops feel so good.

Well, my faithful Mazda died...my Yakima Raptor roof racks won't fit the new car. So needed a hitch rack. This all happened just AFTER Competitive Cyclists's last 20% off 1 full-price item code expired.

Umm....where to start. I bought a 2016 Jamis Renegade Expat Frame and fork. A shimano compact crankset, a pair of CR18 rims to build wheels, a set of 105 2x11 brifters, 105 front derailleur and an 11 speed chain. More parts to come as my goal is to have my new gravel bike built by the end of January. Plans are to use a 105 gs rear derailleur with a road link and an 11-36 rear cassette. May have to adjust gearing when I get some miles on the build.
