Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Some signals don't pick up plastic bikes. It's a problem.

A lot of them don't pick up metal bikes either, some intersections won't even pick up a motorcycle. Old inductive loops, or the sensitivity is set too low or ???

That was my judgment too and I said so, but I figured I’d get a summons if I belabored the point.

You're a vehicle, not a pedestrian. If the inductor loops don't pick you up, the light is malfunctioning and under the right circumstances, you may proceed through. They wouldn't make a goddam DRIVER get out and push the goddam button.

SO, if you're a weight weenie with a CF bike, CF wheels with CF spokes, CD cranks, CF fork and steerer, CF stem and bars, CFseapost and saddle with CF rails, you gotta carry a pocket full of change.

My wheels are metal and the light to go to the Brown Squirrel loop doesn't pick me up. Sometimes I've stood there for several minutes. It's lame.

If there's a big enough break in the traffic to do a U-turn, then you might as well have gone through the red light. The right turn doesn't help.
