Bike Friday is local, and put out a few bikes a day, I think. Anyway, I have no doubt that a couple of individuals are instrumental in the production of every frame, but they do have a few dozen employees now. Early in their history, it may have been a single builder with staff members helping.
Anyway, the Colnago history seems to be a bit sparse for the early years. 1968/1969 seems to be a major transitional biennial period for the production of the Colnago Super bikes, and the transition from a small shop with "Mechanic" Ernesto to "CEO Ernesto". So, if one had a pre-1967 Colnago (that could be verified), it is quite possible that it was made by Ernesto. However, perhaps they got more into the assembly line production by 1968. How many were made in the 68/69 period?
So many of the brands that we hear about really were made as assembly line bikes.

Does the blue chain cost extra?
It looks like it was a fairly nice bike before being massacred.
It still would make a nice $80 commuter.
I would certainly check the serial number with various stolen bike registries.

Never seen fake wood on a bike before. The real shame is that the asking price is pretty reasonable and there appears to be a decent bike underneath that horror show.

I think they've done a very nice job, and it may be all hand painted, no decals.
The frame, however, has pressed steel dropouts, and the famous "claw". So, it is a nice frame, but probably not a cutting edge "racing bike".
I certainly wouldn't plan on stripping it.

I think it looks really cool, and it's a good price, especially considering the vintage leather saddle, which if you don't like it you could probably eBay for $75-100.

Sick Nasty Bicycle
Were you dreaming of a bicycle last night?
Maybe you were pedaling your heart out down a street with an extra terrestrial concealed under a blanket in the basket attached to the front when you suddenly took flight?
Unfortunately, this bike does not have a basket on the front for aliens, but it is the closest I have ever been to magically flying through the night sky.
The chain is a bit rusted so EVERY ride is a guaranteed quad workout. I ate so much garbage last year, but I LOST weight because I pedaled this little struggle bicycle all over.
Asking $20, but I will also accept a well written essay (minimum 200 words) on why you deserve this bicycle. Essays can and should be emailed, feel free to call/text any further inquiries.

I'm going to assume "The Mummy" ("The Mummy's 10 speed bike" ex cond) has been posted here before....
"This bike is in excellent condition. It does not need any tuning or any work at all. Lots of care is put into maintaining his bike with out destroying that look and the patina of the look. The look is given intentionally to make it look like it is 1000 years old. It looks like it is unridable but in actuality it rides very well and is very fast. It is not a low-key bike because it draw so much attention that that bike looks so rundown. In the last pictures you'll see the work in progress of cleaning out the ball bearings of the hubs and regreasing with the latest high-technology synthetic low resistance grease. This is ideal for the rider that is 5 feet to 5 feet five.and can appreciate the art put into this Gitane. 48cm frame. The components are mostly SunTour and Campagnolo shifters. With a keen on you can see that this bike is well-maintained if you know where to look. But from the average bike fixer he will say this bike do not even have any usable parts. You can just use a naked bare chain to lock this bike on Valentia Street you can be sure that people will look and do not want to touch it because it looks like it is so rundown dirty and rusted!"

I watch all sorts of stuff on eBay, much of it with no immediate intention of bidding on. Sometimes I think the price is too high, and wait to see if it goes unsold and the seller lowers the price. Such was the case for a Garlatti. I saw it pop up on a "new" list and thought, "hmmm... wasn't he asking less before?" Sure enough, here's part of the relist email:
