Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I actually hate boarding passes on phones. I find that it slows the boarding process down.

Have you ever watched an airport. So people waiting to board all stand around bunched up blocking everyone else that are trying to move through the terminal. If the inbound flight is late to the gate, the people waiting to board, now squish even tighter in the gate area, completly oblivious to the fact they are slowing the process down because now the people can’t even get off the plane.

Deep breath

Then after all that time is spent standing around blocking the whole terminal, it’s now time to board, and all the people that are in the immediate vicinity of the boarding lane, guess what, they are not group one. Do they move out of the way? Nope. Just stand there, continuing to be in the way. When the first person gets to scan their boarding pass on their phone after standing for an hour and blocking the whole airport, you would think they would have the boarding pass up and ready to go. Nope, they have to find their phone, find the boarding pass, then they have to get the QR code just right so that the computer accepts it.

Exhale.

And this happens over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

It’s amazing that any flights actually take off.

Austin airport is the worst. Who ever designed that needs to go back to coloring pictures with crayons.

And another thing. Why is it acceptable to build gates with a seating area that only has 20 seats, but the plane parking at the gate has 180 seats. WTF.

Austin is a brand new Terminal. End rant.

And blasting your own music over a speaker in the terminal should be banned like it is on the planes themselves. Should be banned everywhere, actually.

OMG, they're letting EVs into the Rock n Roll Car Show

In addition to the usual collector cars on display, this Saturday will offer special features at the show, including a strong display of EV cars.

KCB has actually played at the airport a couple times. We did it to welcome back Honor Air flights. People seemed to like it. Or they at least liked when we played "Rocky Top."
