It's not mine but my wife proudly rode this Specialized Vita home today. I got into cycling last year and have really enjoyed it. My wife has been talking about someday getting a bike. I have made a point not to push her into it but let her do it on her terms. Today she came to me wanting to go bike shopping. We went to the LBS and I let her do all the talking, test riding, and decision making. Without my help, she picked an awesome bike. I look forward to putting many miles on our bikes together and towing our kids around town in the trailer.

Did you guys happen to be at Gregg's Green Lake? I could've sworn I saw a woman like her in the picture taking a Specialized Vita out for a test-ride there this afternoon. In any case, congrats on the new machine!

No, we purchased it at the Silver Lake Bicycle Centres.

Ah, okay. We've been to Silver Lake Bicycle Centres a couple of times. Is there a nice bike path around Silver Lake?

There's no dedicated trail directly around the lake but there are a lot of paths from Silver Lake and down into Mill Creek. There is also the Interurban trail that runs north-south along I-5. I've ridden that a couple times as well. I am still pretty new to it and learning the trails and rides around our house. My whole goal is to start using my car less and start riding for my errands and trips near my house.

If you ever want to meet up and go for a ride shoot me a PM.

Thanks! I'm very new to cycling myself. I rode parts of Interurban Trail (between Seattle and Edmonds) for the first time yesterday. That part of the trail was certainly very well paved. I'm going back there next weekend - hopefully with my wife who just ordered her own bike today.

I have had this bike for about a year now, and it is a 2012 Redline DS1. I have ridden it for about 2,000 to 2,500 miles and it still feels great. I have to patch the seat and change the chain, but that's about all. And sorry for all the pictures in the pictures, my dad hangs up hundreds of pictures in our basement for some reason...

I know, I took a lot of pictures, but sorry. Also, sorry for the crappy quality, it was taken from a mac 2008 laptop.

Just picked up this Giant Roam 2, traded a 2007 Trek 1000 for it and couldn't be happier. Took it for a real ride today and it handles everything i need it to do from some trail riding to road riding. i was skeptical of the tire width but have discovered its a great middle ground that gives me grip when i need it but has little rolling resistance. great gearing better then i expected for sure, brakes need a touch up but are good, thinking about maybe putting disc brake on in the future. shock seems to be good, i dont know much about these so i guess time will tell.

I can see that. That's a beautiful bike. I wish I'd had that choice when I bought mine.

Nah, the black on yours looks good. My 3 bikes listed in my sig are all black. I don't have a pic of my Trek or of my Dyno, but here's the GF.

I can't seem to find any others of it right now. I know I have some somewhere; I can't seem to remember where they are.

girlfriend ? no wait, Gary Fisher, which was an independent bike company that Trek bought a few years ago and folded into their lineup. I think the 'Gary Fisher' brand has been dropped, and now they are just models of trek mtn bikes.

Nice conversion. I'd swap the seat, but that's me, the rest looks great. How do the brakes work out? Do you get enough power with those brakes and levers?

Trek has actually owned Gary Fisher for quite a while (since 93 or 94). Recently, for the 2011 model year, Trek decided to eliminate Gary Fisher as a brand and introduced the Gary Fisher Collection by Trek. For the 2012 model year, they eliminated the Gary Fisher model names for the bike and followed suit with their other model nomenclatures. The bikes are now 8.x DS where "DS" stands for "dual sport." The bikes still have the "Gary Fisher Collection" label on them.
