Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I read over the weekend that EV batteries on the car carrying ship intensified the fire.

If they don't assplode, they'll just burn you to a crisp.

I believe that Vitamin D is quite hyped lately and possibly over-hyped. It's not even a vitamin, it's a hormone. Low levels are clearly associated with poor health, but the evidence that treating people with poor health by giving them Vitamin D really helps is quite limited.

What the good doctors failed to address was the fact that African Americans should most certainly take vitamin D supplements due to the sun blocking effect of the melanins in their skin. I’ve been taking 2,000 I.U. every other day for a few years now.

First real Zwifting experience with the new rig last night. The graphics and frame rate are significantly better, there were no freezes and hops, and I have a shadow. SO, now I'm seeing Zwift with the full 2015 level graphics! Yay. The biggest improvement is launch speed. It now takes 21 seconds to load Watopia, which was several minutes before. Also launch is a lot faster.

I did run into a small problem with the ANT+ stick, which is that the new computer steadfastly refused to find a driver for it. I spent about half an hour trying to find SOMEWHERE online with drivers, but with no luck. SO I went back to the 'pairing screen' and discovered that all my sensor also work in Bluetooth. After a little fiddling around with the HR sensor (unpair/re-pair), everything worked fine.

Another fun fact, the sun uses cholesterol in your skin to produce your vitamin D. The more cholesterol the merrier?

I used to collect Beatles records. I have a white "White Album" and I think I have a few other colored vinyl ones. My understanding is the colored vinyl sound quality is not as good, though

There is a reason that God invented the concept of sharing cheesecakes. It helps spread the risks.

I made this during a backpack trip back in the mid-2000s. Wasn’t half bad.
