either rear one or both rear ones. too bad on the head badge did you ask them to replace the badge or did you know it would just fall on deaf ears? I know these are not looked at as high end bikes but for me it was fair chunk of money. Oh well summer is coming and looking forward to doing some 100 milers on it. thanks

I am the reason the frameset prices went down to 420 (419.99). Like I said before: I knew what I was getting into.

Handsome XOXO 49cm V.2 Drive side dropout

Historically, small frames lack metal badges due to headtube size. No biggie. When it comes to drop outs... out of the box you need to check and adjust them straight.

Anyone else notice the XOXO is no longer listed on their website? Not even by direct link.

If you go to their fb page some body posted yesterday that he was an initial buyer from the kickstart and still has received nothing. said he paid and nada. Also someone posted they initiated a legal complaint with mn ag office. Pretty poor way to run a business. I hope everyone that was screwed over gets made whole. I guess I was fortunate that even tho I have had quality issues I at least got mine. I wish I had done more research on them but when you pull up their webpage only see the good stuff.

I put the t-servs on and took a little ride. definitely feels more flickable with the 1.5's. on it. I did not plan on going so long and did not bring any fuel so last ten I kind of bonked.no stops once I started and even my bladder cooperated lol.

Any clicky pen spring will work, but obviously a trip to the hardware store may result in stainless option. Also, the drop out screws goes the other way round. The reason will make it adjustible by hand tool less and keep it from backing out. Nice job. I will be going back down in tire width next puncture. The fenders will need a few spacers to keep the look clean. I been doing randonneuring events with mine since March. No one makes a front rack bag easily accessible when using a moustache handlebar. I ended up installing a Wald short basket for the time being.

You can pick up longer screws at the hardware store too. They are just M3 x .5 in various lengths. Look in the machine screw section.

Example found at Home Depot

I like the shorter ones ie the ones I got are 30mm long, same as what it came with but they have phillps heads , mostly because I will never have the axle all the way forward. currently it is about 15mm back and that puts the adjuster knobs close to the drop outs, actually the non drive side is right tight against the drop out and the drive side slightly backed off. I used some locktite to make sure the knobs don't vibrate off. I ordered them from Ti-cycles they were like $6.99. curious to see your basket setup. what kind of distances are you doing in randonneuring events? I don't know if there are any of those around me but they sound like something I could get into. are you currently using a mustache bar or the drop bars?

I switch between the bars. The drops allow a better, dare I say, way to exploit a draft. I live on the road. Been traveling since 2011, so long distances are a norm whether it be off or on road, good and bad weather.

I spend all most all of my time on the ends of my mustache bars so I really probably would be better with drop bars. Heads up if you need tires and like the tservs thebikesmith on ebay has them for a set of two for $71 shipped.

If you spend all your time on the ends of that bar, it would mean you probably ready for an upright bar, higher stack, or shorter stem. If you spent your time in the drop/curve of that bar then I would say yes to a drop bar or you have the right fit.

the ends are the lowest position on my bars...the tops of my bars ie highest part of my bars are about 2" below my seat. you can see the dirty area on the bar tape is where I spend my time, from the levers back and rarely from levers to stem.

Right. Now slowly think about what I wrote before. Better yet, take a ruler and measure to the end from the saddle and then from inside the drops to the saddle. The furthest point is the drops, not the ends.

correct, I am probably referring to the ends as the drops or just combining the terminology. I also use the hoods a fair amount.

You have it right to call the ends drops. However, in this bar use case I view it as a flat bar with bar ends and aero extensions. The "drops" being bar ends and the ramp of the drops as the aero extension. That is on me with the rouge terms.

Wow, the bees and gnats are going to love you.

I came up with a good/bad idea the other day in ordering some frame tubes. The 28.6 top tube on this 49cm frame is just dumb. I ordered a 25.4 (0.7-0.4-0.7 mm walls) top tube and thinner walled seat tube. I do think it would be more advantageous (sp) to just have the entire rear triangle redone in smaller diameter tubes. We shall see where this goes.

seems like it would be easier and cheaper to just go with a new frame. be an interesting project and interesting to see how heavy the xoxo tubes are in comparison. I am sure you have your reasons for doing it but why not just look for a different frame?

interesting project no doubt. can't wait to see how it turns out. Are you looking for a smoother ride, maybe on the small frame it is harsh ride? What tubes did you order?
