Does that bike have different wheel sizes, or am I imagining that?

The front wheel was turned slightly. They're both 26".

This is one of my favorite BF threads... commuter bikes are really where you can let your personality and creativity show through.

This is my patchwork commuter. Got a free comfort hybrid bike from friend, who hadn't used it in over 10 years.
Replaced riser bars with bullhorns with MTB dimensions, jury-rigged grip shifters to work on the bar-ends. Swapped our 38s for 28s, and replaced chainring and cassette to get 52t x 11t vs the stock 48t by 14t

It's ugly, but I like it!

I'd like to post a pic of my commuter but it's a SE Lager with several additions and I know how you guys hate on them. But I love mine and am happy when I ride it.

Mine too. Form and function gather together!

Ugly is great. This is called a sleeper bike. Looks like crap, rides like glory. (Right?) I like how you managed to put flat bar shifters on a bar that is more like a drop bar. I happen to like bars that jut forward like that.

I once had a commuter bike that rode like a dream and looked dorky. Once a teenager had the nerve to yell out at me, "Cheap bike!" I was so proud to have fooled him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like there's something funky going on with the spokes in your front wheel.

Here's my winter beater. I just put a disc fork/wheel/brake on the front so it will stop in poor conditions. I need to stop at the bike shop and pickup a couple of spacers for the top of the fork.

Is that a ring lock I spy on the back there? I purchased one of those for my current build, but haven't had a chance to try it. How do you like it?

haha...they do look funny in the pic. Must be an opital delusion because they are just normal black spokes arranged in the normal way.....I think.

Sure looks like some kind of weird lacing error to me.

Here is mine. 2013 Charge Zester. I swapped out the flat bar for the bullhorns, changed the seat color, new pedals and bar tape. She is sweet!

One of my roadie friends has an SE that he uses as his around-town bike. (I use my Fantom Cross Uno for the same.) No bike hate here.

Thanks for the compliment!

I absolutely love the ring lock. I got an ABUS one and a chain that can plug into the locking mechanism. I keep the chain in my bag. Combined with Velo Orange's locking skewers, locking this thing up outside is quick and easy.

Just built up this LHT. 7 sp Nexus IGH, roller brake on the rear and direct pull on the front, SKS longboards, Soma Oxford handle bar, 26 in marathons, and NR Lumina 500. Sold my car a couple of years ago and have been working towards this purpose driven self build. Baer Wheels here in town let me use their shop and equipment and know-how to build this up.

Would I be able to ride it if they were all wonky?

Wheww! Good thanks, had me worried for a minute there.
I don't have a camera or smart phone so these shots are from my webcam which is less than ideal.
