Also note the head tube paint transition edge, at the outside of the lug. How Jim Cunningham did it. The top painters today have to be convinced this is the way to go, they almost all want to move the break to the inside edge.
this bike Might have been re-clear coated later, the bikes I saw way back were not this shiny. Unsure of the painted to match pump being original, small departure if later. But good to see it out on the road and not hiding on display.

The weatherman says its going to be a great day to ride a Bike in Pasadena . High of 55 degrees and No Rain. Its going to be a little chilly as 55 means its Winter in So Cal , LOL.. Sorry East Coast people.

Well The Velo Retro Vintage Ride in Pasadena was a great success ! Excellent turnout for the Event and the So Cal weather was exceptional. Smiles all around , lots of friends getting reacquainted for the new Year ahead and a great atmosphere was in the air, and speaking of air, yup perfect clear blue skies .
Chuck and Bart were in attendance but didnt ride due to some ailments ,but they were at the start , Pizza stop and the finish. Good to see them both for the first ride of 2024 . There were 4 Wolf bicycles at the ride today and the "Wolf Pack" all had a great time. Charles rode a vintage Team Lejeaune Race ridden Bike which was pretty amazing , Team U.S.A. consisted of myself and Wilson , Wilson was my LeadOut Man today but it didnt help as Bert WON the highly contested RoseBowl Sprint finish. I dont know who won the San Marino Polka Dot Mountain jersey as I was too far back to see who came in first up the hill.

The Rose Bowl Vintage ride is a No Dop Ride, Unfortunately we had 2 flats today, but it gave everybody some time to catch up with each other . The tire repairs were very quick and back on the road we went in no time.

I really need to do this ride. I am still trying to get back to shape after my broken hip so maybe I’ll be able to join you guys in a couple of months. It was breezy here but beautiful , clear skies and cool temps so I squeezed out 17 miles even in the wind. I am only about an hour north of Pasadena.
