Nice recovery ride yesterday that I just realized didn't post to Strava? Hmm here we go again.
Think I had around 50 showings over the weekend, possibly more. I wasn't there for the entire time. Agent will call me later to discuss the offers. We called highest/best @ 10am today. She already indicated we have a couple good offers and one young fella told me that his offer would be cash. Within 7 days of acceptance. What a weird ,weird market....
So now of course the target area for the purchase has kinda dried up, lol. I'm not panicing.....yet.....
I have put the wheels I rebuilt with the spokes and hubs from the 50mm pair that failed last year on Contador. Had to open the brakes up a substantial amount. I am hoping I can find a happy medium using the quick release and the barrel adjusters to make switching easier. These new rims are 25mm wide for better aerodynamics with 25mm tires.... or it was what I could buy to replace the junk rims that failed that ticked all the boxes.
I am going to give them a go on Tuesday night with the Michelin pro4 endurance tyres I bought last year. They feel pretty good maybe a short test hop tonight after work if I can squeeze it in. I am excited to try them out.

Also, I am getting ready to have to punch a new hole in my belts. I have lost a substantial amount of girth since November . 5 holes in the belt and I'm not done yet. I need to shed another 20 or so. Although I haven't gotten on a scale since I broke into the 230's. I'll wait till I get where I want to be then see what I weigh. I feel pretty good today, and yesterday I rode for an extended period in the drops! Can't do that with a big Ole belly lol. Well you can you just can't breath while doing it.

Not sure what you mean, he is a doctor. I just know he's backed off on his RICE theory somewhat but I don't remember why. You can google his website if you want to dig around. He's a prolific writer.

I have to assume that it's increased water retention due to the ****tier diet on the road. Seeing as I rode 200 miles while away and was active with yard work, I think that I would have had to consumed an average of ~7000 cal/day in order to have legitimately gotten 6-7lbs fatter.

I got a scare yesterday. Jumped on the scale for the first time since getting back from the trip and weighed in 6-7lbs higher than before we left

fitness reached 64 last week. Will be interesting what it drops to next week. I only have 2 days off over a 10 day period.

I had been attempting 20 miles every other day. Then the weather turned hot. So now I'm shooting for a much more easily accomplished goal of ten every day. It shows promise. Being out after mid day will be the rare occurrence over the coming six months. I never thought I would live to see the day that I'm happy with ten miles on a bike.

It's only 5-7%, not super steep anywhere on the route. When descending you can control your speed with your brakes. If you don't want to go fast you don't have to.
My arms and upper body get tired on the long, rough sections where hard braking is needed, though. I just stop and stretch a bit.

Here is another pic of the lower section of the first climb. The surface is in great shape and it's really a fun descent.

Can't find 'em on Ebay, though. I can find 52/42 all day long, from multiple groupsets. And of course, Sante being Sante, the chain rings for it aren't just plain aluminum. No, they've got a pattern in gray printed on them. I think I can make do with the 52/42 and 13-24 for now, especially since I have so many other choices! No need to take the Circuit into the mountains, especially with the single pivot brakes. They're not awful, but they're not disks. They're not even dual pivots.

I've been riding in the drops more - the afternoon winds from the NNW have started - and now it's not my gut that my thighs hit. It's my lowest rib!

Doesn't look so bad. Looks like a lot of sweepers, and there are nice open sight lines. My usual descent is through Redwood forest and the sightlines are pretty short.
