Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

They are having their big anniversary sale. I think it ends today. Might explain lack of in-store merchandise. I went to the Marlton, NJ store on Tuesday. Some things I wanted we’re not in store. Expect for footwear and a few other things like fuel and socks, I usually order on line.

I’m waiting for delivery of a new mattress. Haven’t been able to find the leak in my current one. It’s extremely small. Going to try the bathtub approach again.

Stock issues - I regularly buy cassettes and chains at REI, it's not unusual for them to have the best price locally, but their 11s stock has dwindled to virtually nothing in the last 12 months.

I've had old heads tell me that constant pedaling, even when lightly braking, makes you a smoother wheel to follow. While some wheels are certainly smoother to be on than others, I can't say that I've noticed a direct effect.

11 speed stuff has been hard to get. We couldn't get standard (non-SL) 11 speed chains for a while. But, we really stocked up early on, so there were only a couple of weeks of only having the $100 chains.

There is an African-American Corvette group that regularly gathers in a local shopping center on Saturday evenings. Those guys can really deck out a car. Some are really cool in a motorsport kind of way, and some are really out there (picture 25” wheels with spinners and neon lights). It’s pretty cool and fun to see what they come up with.

Yeah, I gathered that when I picked up some chains over the winter. Nothing 105/Ultegra online at/under MSRP. Only one local store had stock, and they were pretty sure that it was an inventory error until they checked on my behalf - they were as surprised as I was when they laid hands on small box of 'em. I should have bought 4 or 5, but wanted to be a nice guy and leave some for others. #dummy

Sounds like at least one person ruined a otherwise good corvette………..

Speaking of spinners. I know what my mini van needs. Do they help with gas mileage?
