Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Excellent. Someday I'd like to do a custom frame like this but maybe with internal cable routing.

Soma Double Cross

Maiden ride on my Soma. They stopped shipping the Red logo version, this one has light gray logo and branding. Pretty stealth. It is built up with 105 (had the triple already so just went with it.) The triple gives it more functionality for me anyway. Cane Creek Canti's. WTB Cross Wolf tires. It weighs in at 22, thanks mostly to the CXP-22's - durable but heavy - but they do have black spokes! The fork is a Novara Cross fork I acquired. Not sure if I dare try to race, we'll see. But I see it as a winter, grocery hauler, mixed terrain bike. May switch out the tires for better rolling if I don't race it.

So...I made the mistake of looking through all 70 pages, and now the bike I was just day dreaming about will be here within the next couple days...****!

Getting a All City Nature Boy. I'm just gonna swap over most of the parts from my fixie for now, then add in set of dirt drops with aero levers and cantis. In the future (AKA once I've sold my fixie frame, commuter, and mtb) I'll pick up a second set of wheels with a nice set of knobbies for cross riding come spring time. That way I can just switch between wheelsets for commuting/crossing instead of having to switch tires all the time. I'm going to try and limit myself to one bike and no left over or spare parts by the time spring comes around, garage is getting pretty cluttered and when I go to move out of my parents house in the near future I don't want to have to deal with all the excess ****.

Will post updates as it gets built...

My new toy. Sold my MTB and picked this up new. Not as flashy as some but it's got a good group set for building on the future.

Going to give this cross racing a shot in a couple weeks. Had my first practice the other night and had a blast. Still adjusting the fit and cleat positions. Dismounting is going to take some practice!

I ride my too-small DeKerf Mountain that I can't seem to let go. Prepped for CX duties with drop bars, rigid fork and Schwalbe CX Pro's. A real nice time, and should be even nicer once I bring the bars up another inch.

2011 Blue Norcross SL

Stock from the catalog except Thomson non-setback post, and running 2010 carbon bead hutchinson's tubeless after a quick conversion. No burps to 28 psi. Oh, and eggbeaters.

Cool looking bike man! Are those bars legal for racing? They look pretty wide.

Old Trek Mountain track. Sanded and painted black. Took my 7 spd freewheel, put 8 speed spacers w an 8 spd chain, then put on Shimano 8spd STI shifters. Eggbeater mtnb pedals. I hope I dont get shot for this, butttt it was a project for a poor man's cyclocross

P.S.
I couldnt get my image to load properly, so feel free to check out the attached and let me know !

How stiff is it? It looks like it definitely can jump off the line or a straightaway!

I'm going to do a couple races SS. Since, you know, cross is too easy with gears. Cross-post SS/FG.

Here's mine. It was a little project that kind of got outta control.

Surly Crosscheck
rebrazed triple guides
Cane Creek Left Brake
Campy Mirage 9 Right
Shimano Rear Derailleur (didn't even need a jtek to get this to work!!)
Shimano m520 pedals
Tektro cr720/oryx Salmon Mtn Pads
Ultegra Compact front (gonna replace with a 39t and bbg guard)
Stock bars, stem, wheelset, 12/25 cassette

Probably gonna paint it orange and get some blue tape.

This frame was purchased off CL as a hybrid and was my first fg conversion. I have since progressed through a few more fixies and had turned this into the wife's roadster.
Anyway, it was repurposed for its first race last week as a SSCX.

It will be a before and after of sorts this week, soon as I get my new sscx frame.
