What kind of a crank would turn a piston rod into a bike?

Here's a knackered old Cannondale that I can't understand... next to a log-cabin, long-dropout vintage Cannondale racy road bike that looks pretty neato.

The fork is a replacement, probably? The rear appears to have a canti stop but a side pull caliper? Dual eyelets and a chain hanger.

Shifts pretty well
Rear new tube
Front tube can be replaced

$500. A bargain, that's only about $11 a pound!

"What if I told you this bike could sell for up to $500?"

Answer (A) "Then you'd be wrong."

Answer (B) "Then I'll give you $50 for the buyer's phone number, because I've got a lot worthless crap I'd like to unload for a lot of money."

This guy keeps posting over, and over, and over. Around here, this bike would go for $250 max, and probably closer to $200, even with the condition. This dude is dreaming.,,,,BD

If you report his post, you won't see it anymore. Even if he refreshes it.

Unfortunately, if he makes a new posting, you will see it.

I don't think clicking on the "hide" button is the same as reporting/flagging it (flag as prohibited/spam/miscategorized). At least I hope it isn't.

I try to hide all the 1950's tank bikes that show upon Craigslist. Either there are a lot of them locally, or the hiding them doesn't seem to help much.

That Paramount looks nice. $450 is a bit steep. $300??? Perhaps someday the seller will entertain offers.

Huh -- were 24" front wheel'd Centurion Ironmasters really a thing? @RobbieTunes ? I was skeptical, but fork seems to match pretty well.

It would be nice to see a full side view. But, there were quite a few Terry brand bikes made with 700c X 24" (or 650). I don't know if they were made in house, or imported.

I think I saw some other brand, maybe the Centurion come into the local bike co-op recently.

So, yes, I have no doubt it is original. The head tube is too long for that rear triangle if it wasn't a small front wheel.

It looks like a great bike for those shorter stature riders, and the price looks reasonable.

It's not a Terry. It's a ripoff of her idea (which might be a ripoff or at least reinvention of someone else's idea, or she was a better advocate for it). You can find the history. I found an interview a while back but can't find it now. Several of the bigger companies brought out bikes like it at the time. It sort of killed her bike business and shoved her into the clothes and saddle business instead, which was more lucrative for her anyhow, but she didn't enjoy it so sold that business and is now back to custom frame building.

That was the smallest size Ironman but there were Terry bikes that were even smaller, with the top tube level with the rear wheel.

I'm sort of fascinated by these and wish I had a good reason to buy one but of course just my luck, I'm a normal sized male!

My wife's Centurion, we bought it new:

Yes, Centurion made a small frame Ironman women's bike with a 24 inch front wheel.

Cute.

I like how the shifting is explained.

SPEED RAZOR features rear brake and kick-chain 3 speeds. If you get tired you can easily kick the chain, while riding, into a lower gear; but you have to grab the chain the upshift.
So, the rear derailleur isn't connected to a shifter, and the front is even missing the derailleur. Hmmm

And for bumps... Watch dropping the front wheel into a hole.

it is possible to maintain over 10mph over rough roads without wrecking or ruining the wheel: for any threat, simply yank the handlebar, andor stomp on the crank, to wheelie.
