Wares was a great place. Now it's gone, and a microbrewery supply store is there.

Neat. My first two nice bikes were a couple Italvegas that ISTR purchasing from Harding's when I was a student at UCLA in the early- to mid-70s. The first one was stolen while I was in a biology class, necessitating the purchase of the second. I eventually sold the second one's frame and moved the parts to a Masi GC.

'86 Peloton was originally sold by TJ Frisbee Bicycles:

Looks like they're still around and have been "serving toddlers to pros since 1972."

I keep hoping to see an old sticker from Harbor Bike & Ski, a now defunct shop that was located in Waupaca, WI. I worked there for four years in the early 1990’s, and probably stuck hundreds of those stickers on new bike builds (Trek, GT, and Timberlin—the house brand of Wisconsin Cycles).

Also the town on Dustin’s T-shirt on Stranger Things.

I remember Harbor Bike & Ski. My mom purchased a white mag for my BMX bike back in the mid-80's. There used to be a cool waterslide in Waupaca too, but we spent a lot of our summer playing Super Mario Bros. Go carts, too.

Wisconsin Cycles used to have a warehouse in Sheboygan right off of I-43. I know this, for I knew one of the guys who used to work there. Lots of bike boxes all around.

Very cool! The mid-80’s may have been two owners before the guy I worked with. Before my time, they also sold Giant and Sanwa, which may have also been distributed by Wisconsin Cycles. Maybe also Fuji, as my first “nice grown up bike” was a Fuji Sagres SP from that shop.

Bikes: Wow, where to start? A collection of 1980's and early 90's road, touring, and MTBs from the likes of Trek, Schwinn, Cannondale, Fuji, Miyata, Univega, Panasonic, and GT. It has gotten rather out of control.

Changing things up but still in the spirit... how about a wheelbuilder's decal:

New Project - '73 Raleigh Gran Prix traveled a long way to get here....here being NC (it was a craigslist buy in Raleigh). Any of you MI guys know this shop? Doesn't look in terrible shape for $50 and except for the big saddle looks to have all original equipment, which may not be so great considering the Simplex derailleur and cottered cranks but if it works I may keep them and the steel rims just to have it original since it's a bike boom icon. I wonder if the Miller bottle generator lights were put on at the shop? Still looking for that campus green Varsity too.

Digging up and old thread; you may have built my Cannondale. Marty Creech was a good guy.

Caster’s bike shop
Offering from the state of Rhode Island. I think they are part of a group of bike stores now, not sure. But I do know they sold Treks in 96.

I just acquired a '78 Super Course yesterday. It needs a good cleaning, has a few scrapes, but no rust anywhere I can find. The sticker is from Arizona, which might explain the lack of rust. The crank is just a trial fit, not screwed on. Interesting in that it looks like the sticker is serialized. Never seen that.

Could my new Chicago Schwinn actually be from Chicago ? Anyone know of any other Severson Schwinn shops or were they a big retailer with several stores in many cities? No location indicated.

Found this one on a 1989 Ironman. Although they have moved, the shop is still in business.
