Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Drew jokingly asked if she was going to name it Baxter, after the dog that tackled her.

I have been watching this invasion of Snowy Owls at the airport develop since Monday, when there was only one there. Now there are 4 of them. That's at least a four hour drive for me. Now I have to go check them out, but not today or the weekend, it's too late today and the weekend will be too busy. I'll aim for Tuesday if they're still there by then.

Damn, can't ignore this opportunity.

Oh, I know. We had our shop for almost 3 years. We stayed in the black despite setbacks, bad checks, doubled rent, and giving the wrong people credit. Alcohol was a monster, though.
I also worked for individuals in gas stations and I worked for a guy who had machines in his garage. Also 3 family owned towing companies.

Just went into a foul mood after writing checks for property taxes.

A couple of high zoot crabon DA Di2s with integrated cockpits just went poof! Will be riding my peasant 105 a while longer.

I have to say, I've never found anything to beat 105 in my long cycling career. I am, however, a peasant

I've heard property tax in Texas can be anywhere from next to nothing to 3% depending on the county and what services are there. In California I think it's close to 1% everywhere.

1% of what? I expect it's the "assessed value," but that is quite variable and possibly arbitrary.
