I was testing out some twitter guy's first word experiment. He originally thought adieu would be great because it covered so many vowels, but said it actually sucked in his experience. So anyway I had to see for myself today, and yep, it's possibly THE worst first word.

Tell me about it. When I worked for the State of Illinois, all of our engineering vehicles were Travel-Alls, Scouts, etc. because IH had a factory in Canton, IL. Man, they were junk. They were junk when they were new. This was in the '70s and I know most cars were junk but these were junk of several magnitude.
A LOT

Why pay someone else when you can do it yourself for triple the price?
Kudos to you, really. I helped my dad do Craftsman style baseboards and door casings at their old house and it's a lot of work but super satisfying.
Also annoying to find out just how un-square many things are

I think that’s something they typically say to make you feel better about all the $$$$ you have to sink into it.

No. He didn’t have to say it, but we both know it’s a modest 1930s starter home which had had a lot of substandard work done on it. Problem is it’s worth about 1.1 mil and that’s not a tear-down in this neighborhood…yet.

I was working from memory and it wasn't exactly a 100% accurate portrayal except... the coffee enema part!
Anyway, anyone wanting to google it can try searching: Jordan Klepper vs. Anti-Vaxxers in SoCal. The coffee enema comes up starting at around the 5' mark.

I asked her whether he had wandered into someone else's attic. It also made me wonder about everyone else's house, that ours should seem so well built!

Wolf's not dead. It just moved south and roams around Oklahoma, North Texas, and Arkansas looking for double wides.

Eight days and nine nights, in mostly cold weather (40s to 70sF). Two pair of pants or three? A lightweight tour without a lot of walking. A couple ruins, a couple museums, a couple boats.

This.
Clearly they hadn't invented levels, T-squares or plumb bobs yet in 1895.
