I'll move over to the right if the lane is wide enough, otherwise I will continue to ride right of centre.
If you are in the bike lane (dedicated one or not), remain in the bike lane, and hold your line, you are not "merging" back into traffic. You are in your lane and they are in their lane.

No offense, but in the majority of cyclist vs driver road rage videos I've seen, it's the cyclist who usually looks like the wuss (maybe in better cardiovascular shape but backing down, nonetheless). The cyclist typically comes across more rational - but then again, he's usually the one doing the videotaping and editing.

I am NOT in a bike lane, if you look at the pictures in the OP. There was no bike lane. My lane is the right and correct lane!

Still going on about this? Here’s what bikesnobnyc has to say:

Granted, taking the lane is almost certain to enrage the driver behind you, but in a vacuum free from human emotion I suppose its sensible advice.

in Chapel Hill, NC there are bike lanes within the city area, but not outside. I've experienced hostility once when I ran a red light. A white guy in a pick-up yelled at me. I didn't care what he had to say. I still run red lights if the roads are clear

I only run a red light at a signal that I know for a fact will not detect me (from prior experience), and no other cars are in the immediate vicinity to make it change. Otherwise I wait for the green like everyone else.

+1. This usually happens early in the morning when there's little traffic and I'm approaching an major road from a side road. Sometimes there's enough traffic flow on the major road that I have to mount the sidewalk to press the crossing signal, but this is a major pain in the butt as several of them are located in spots that are very inconvenient for someone on a bike to have to press.

I'm often relieved when a car pulls up next to or behind to trip the light signal.

I feel no qualms at all about running a red light if it is safe to do so. Bicycles do not put lives in danger. If I might get run over, I wait for the green. If there are no cars to run me over, I go through. No other real consideration.

That is why I said "dedicated one or not". You don't have to have painted lines to be in the bike lane. Holding your line makes you predictable to drivers. Weaving in and out and unnecessarily taking over the lane makes you unpredictable and annoying.
