Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

9 speed shifters are hard to come by and so thought I'd throw this out there.

Not cheap but the hoods look like they are in good shape.

holy ****, $200? Who would pay that? Its not like they are a particularly vintage collectible and one of the less ergonomic designs

Nine speed triple shifters in usable condition are impossible to find and demand is high. They will come up from time to time on ebay but sell immediately or are complete trash, good for parts only.

Shimano nine speed groupsets are really nice looking and function superbly, especially the triple, and I tried to keep mine going as long as possible. A set like that is rare and I'll bet they sell fast.

Bike Recyclery is legit. I've gotten many parts from them.

REI GARAGE. Extra 20% off with code XTRA20

2016 Diamondback Podium Vitesse - $1.7k, $1.9k shipped to me in CA

https://www.rei.com/rei-garage/produ...esse-bike-2016

I think it's a good deal. Where else can you get a high quality, stiff carbon frame, semi aero, HED wheels, full ultegra, 16.1lb bike, with REI warranty for under $2k? This bike was winning races not too long ago in the states (never the bike, but you could win on one if you wanted to)

I don't even need a bike and just bought it. Might replace my CAAD12

RT900 rotors on sale

https://www.westernbikeworks.com/product/shimano-dura-ace-sm-rt900-disc-brake-rotor

$58 shipped for the new DA rotors. 160mm and 140mm in stock also.

First serious discount I've seen on these rotors.

I've found some Microshift STI 3x9 shifters for $83. They say they are shimano compatible. Does anyone have experience with these? I'm desperately trying to find a 3x9 set in good condition.

MicroShift are Shimano comparable and are decent quality and probably better than anything you may find used. 9-speed has been gone for what, 10 years or more?

Thanks. I understand. My situation is that I recently got a Trek 5200 (for free) 3x9 and all it needs is shifters. The microsfhift are only $83 and if I want to upgrade to 10sp then it's new shifters anyway and will also require a new cassette (and spacer). I'm looking to get up and running for the least amount of money. Also, I have no objection against 9sp.

When did Diamondback resurrect from the realm of Huffy/Mongoose/Schwinn? I've been seeing more and more DBs lately in magazines.

The last few years. Rally (among others) has been riding them for a bit. You can still find them heavily discounted, but I wouldn't be surprised if those discounts start to become less dramatic.

On my Project Hero Rides, we've had some of the Rally Cyclists come ride with us (As Optum/UHC are our 2 biggest sponsors) and those Podium bikes are unbelievable. Really gorgeous bikes and they ride awesome.

Cannot wait to receive mine!

The 2016 model I posted had a MSRP of $4k, while the new 2018 model has the same exact specs, but retails for $2.5k. Either they went cheap on the carbon to bring the price down, or they were just ripping people off to being with. Anyone know? I read the 2016 has hi mod fibers, but the 2018 does not

Regardless, awesome bike for the $, just on paper. Cant wait to throw everything at it on a ride.
