Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why don't you take all those spacers out, slam the stem right on top of the headset, and level your handlebar? Your shifters will then be in roughly the same position, but without the awkward looking setup....

Just for fun. I actually didn't like it at first but it's grown on me. The bike is a cluster of parts:

Nashbar shifters, DA drivetrain, Ritchey pedals, etc.... My mountain bike has gold bars. Just a weird obsession I have I guess

This is just silly. Do you ride this bike or does it just hang out in the stable?

Why is it silly? I've put over 4,000 miles on it in the past year or two—haven't been riding as much due to work. It's gotten me through four centuries with ease.

Why do you have your hoods like that? It looks like your bars slipped.

I call shenanigans! That is no road bike!

Honestly though I used to ride a cross bike as my only bike aswell so I give you Kudos there.

Now out of curiosity how did you get the Linear pull brakes to work without a travel-mate? Are the pads just positioned ridiculously close to the rims?

cross bikes are adapted road bikes. how do classify a touring bike?
shes my bad/cold weather ride. I have a madone 4.7 for the good days. the TCX1 has same bike fit geometry as my Madone, (notice reversed seat post.)
those are tecktro mini v bmx brakes with 85mm arms so they pull like the TRP cx8.4's (84mm). I have the travel agents but didn't need them.
they have slight modulation but are still on/off like any cross brakes. the pads aren't super close to rims but closer than pivot brakes would be.

Very nice bike and photo. Love the background. The angle makes the seat look like its pointing up though.

I'm going to be honest, I was going to say "not to pile on" but this is obviously piling on. That bike screams "too much money, not enough sense" to me. Sorry.
