The idiocy in this thread is the assumption in the original post that the supertuck was banned to protect other amateur riders from attempting it.
Everything I read said it was to protect other professional riders from times someone might be using the supertuck and cause an accident to the other nearby riders.
When in the supertuck they only have limited control over their bike.

UCI’s recent decision to outlaw the so-called Super Tuck has clearly caused quite a stir. Is it really that unsafe for pro racers to adopt the ultra-aero position? Did the UCI think it provided too much of an advantage? Or is it more a matter of the UCI not wanting to encourage less-skilled amateurs to go careening down mountains at such breakneck speeds?
