It was about 65 or so when I left for work. We'll still hit mid 90's through at least next week though.

~3hrs 50ish miles 156 TSS

In keeping with recent postings on checking weight, I weighed myself after the ride, 159.6, woohoo (goal is 154) I think it's been a year since I've been under 160.

Yes, it's a big one. Probably in the top 3 for Norcal crits:

1) San Rafael
2) Giro SF and
3) Cat's Hill
Then Santa Cruz, Lodi, etc

(roughly - order of #2 & #3 are debatable)

Giro usually has about 80 in the p/1/2 field.

We had a hurricane pass through last night. It was supposed to last through most of the morning, but the rain is pretty much gone. It's still windy though.

I'm now debating whether I want to ride outside or just sit on the trainer this morning and watch college football being played in Ireland. (It's one of two games I am actually interested in.)

Wait until the battle of the bay state (yes, they are marketing it as that). Some quality football there lol

Then again, my school is a d3 no football program so I have no business poking fun

3 hrs, with 2:45 @ 75%. I feel shattered. There was much negotiating with myself to finish. '5 more minutes', 'get to the top of that bump', 'you can eat like a pig when you get home'

Oh good. Does that mean you won't want to go too hard tomorrow?

Nice effort, I usually feel great for the rest of the day after recovering from a ride like that.

Legs were still sore but I went out and did just shy of 5 hours, 7k ft of climbing today, anyway. It was really cold in Big Basin! Made me forget it was summer. I'm going to miss the redwoods around here when I'm down in San Diego

Going to do the Cyclovets ride today, should be good for ~2.5 hrs of z1/2. I'm feeling better and less congested in my chest and head, which is good. I figure I'm still a solid 3-5 days out from putting in a real training ride, but I've got to admit, it's getting better all the time!

They must have had a different meeting point today, so I rode by myself with a few moderate efforts. I still have a slightly chesty cough, but it's reduced, and the amount of phlegm is significantly down.

Up next: water, relaxing.

Decided not to race tomorrow. So did the morning group ride today. 72 miles with 6500 feet. Lots of threshold time today.
Pretty big week:
290 mi, 16,800 ft, ~930 TSS

Skipped mtbing this morning because I stayed up late and didn't feel like getting up early. Went to the gym instead, hit the rower for a bit and then some upper body work

On the ride this morning we start with Moody - a steep (10% ??) 3:00-4:30 climb. I always do my intervals here, so I hit the climb going for a solid, near max effort. I'm feeling great when I hit the top second, 3:29 @5.9, my pr is only 23 seconds faster. Intervals are usually 30 seconds slower.

Then I'm suddenly humiliated when the 15 year old I barely beat keeps going hard up page mill climb for the next 27 minutes or so while I spend 10' in zone 2 recovering before I can pick it up the z4! Wow.

To be 15 and 90 lbs.

That would be awesome. E3 and focused on road, maybe with some track thrown in for practice. I'll pm you after we move, thanks! Probably going to check out Swami's and SDBC to start with but I'm open to smaller more focused teams if it's a good personality fit

I have that same feeling when I look at strava and see that my teammate beat my best time up a climb that I set during a 20 min PR, while doing a solo century and averaging a higher speed than most of my hour long rides x_x. I can't blame his light weight either as he has a good 10 lbs on me

did 3x10 @ 100% (was supposed to be 4x10 on the trainerroad session I picked but I decided not to overreach when I had been doing 2x15 in prior weeks, plus it's 10pm).

I'm an SDBC cat 3. There is a lot of organization and participation which makes it a great team.

Again, let's meet up and go for a ride when you get down here and we can discuss options.

Taking the day off, which if I skip a holiday / weekend riding I'm pretty sore.

Hamstrings and glutes are so sore I can't really walk; never had an issue with those muscles in 10 years of riding until the last few weeks. Its a good sign; all those years I've been riding in a poor pelvic / back position, which was biomechanically wrong. I was basically only using my quads and calves while seated.

I'm hoping that all these changes will give me a massive boost in power. Who knows if that will happen, it may even go down.
