You wouldn't if you had five driveways, sidewalks, parking lots, etc.
I was thinking about this the other day. For the last few years I haven't been nearly as frisky and wanting to do rides. I have to work myself into the mood to do longer ones. I attributed it to fatigue, anaemia, whatever.
But this now is happening with car trips too. If I start thinking about how long a drive will take, that makes me feel tired, too.
It's a problem.

My late brother was a family man and had family cars but always had road motorcycles and took trips to ride motorcycles in Europe, Japan, and New Zealand.
He once took a class at Laguna Seca race track where they provided open wheel cars with rotary engines. After some practice laps and classroom instruction the students got to chase the instructor around the track. The instructor was a pro driver in a modified VW Golf and they couldn't catch him.
My brother said it was a blast.

Speaking of which, some dumb dumb tried to steal a car, crashed it trying to get out of the parking space, got beat up by the driver, then jumped out of the ambulance on the way to the hospital and tried to escape.

Hindsight is telling me that today's ride was a bit too ambitious. Only had two bottles of water and didn't bring enough food so I blew up and limped home the last hour.
Also was my first time going out on an unknown route with just my Wahoo. Had some frustrations with the unit not rejoining the route when I had to deviate due to road closures, and then RWGPS gave me a wrong cue telling me to turn left when I should have gone right.
Still fun though. Learned a lot.
