It's been a while since I posted these - both have had facelifts of sorts: My 760 now sports genuine Velocity hipster wheels, and I got a new PBR tatoo too.

The first three pics are of my '85 Trek 560. This was a frame-up build using Cyclone and 600 for drive-train, Ultegra brakes, 105 head-set, Nitto bars, Lepper saddle and running tubulars. The '85 model was in Reynolds 501. A bit later, they came out in 531. Investment cast lugs and some very careful assembly. I had the frame fully serviced by a frame builder and had him alter the internal, stay cable routing in exchange for an external stop. Then clear coated it. I loved the way this bike rode, but it was just a tad too small for me. So the frame sits on my shed wall. It may go to back across the ocean to Canada if we decide it fits my daughter.

The fourth pic is my upgraded 930 hybrid in True Temper tubing. I loved this bike too and still have it. A friend borrowed it for a few months last year and could not say enough about it. It needs a thorough going over and is in pieces. A great city bike — perfect in traffic. Everyone who has had, or has a 930 seems to feel the same way.

1992 Trek 8000 MTB. No white garage door to use as a photo backdrop, but I think the wall works just fine. Rehab'd the bike by adding new brakes, pedals, seat, drop handlebars, tires, . . . and some 'attitude'. Its now my SAV (suburban assault vehicle)

That is a very nice looking bike, Chris. I don't know how the 'after' is going to be any better. That looks pretty much spot on.

2 of 3 Treks in the garage, still getting the 1995 930 rolling.
2002 8500 (Not exactly C or V, but the stem is 1995!)
Acquired as a bare frame, wanted something "celeste-y", but the powdercoater had a somewhat bluer RAL 6034 in stock so we went with that. As this was a higher end frame, and had a disc option I built it up fairly modern. Shimano XT 3X9, Reba shock, Stylo crankset with Race Face rings, Neuvation wheels. Old System 2 stem (need to flip it.) Overall I am liking it, I ride a 29er a lot but still find the nimbleness of the 26 a lot of fun. Needs a headbadge though.

A 1989 1200. In really nice condition, love the color, but the 52/42 is a bit robust. Not recent photos as it does have SPD pedals. Not sure if this fits any need I have other than a compulsion to buy more bikes...

Thanks Roger! I think the end result will be pretty similar, but with less dirt. The dirt is not visible in that photo, but it's there.

Nice. looks like it wasn't ridden much. Isn't that the bike you're going to post in the 'pay it forward' thread?

Haven't decided yet, it MAY go to my older son, IF he is interested, being that he is close to being out of collage and shouldn't be on the "Loose a bike a year" plan....it is too big for me, just a BIT tall, but the length is good, I should just have my legs stretched! :-)

Love the paint on the mid '90's 9XX bikes. Long for a dry ice green/dry ice blue fade 930/970, see them all the time but I just have a few too many other bikes. My 930 is Ice Cyan Blue.
