Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Gonna be real ironic when this guy hands you a pile of bills.

He deserves a nice Christmas card and an even better tip.

Last I checked it's illegal for USPS workers to accept any tips or cash gifts. But they are allowed to accept a modest non-cash gift.

Yes I plan to leave a little something for my mailman in the box. As much stuff as Mrs BD orders online that won’t fit in the mailbox he’s earned it.

The wife tells me Amazon has forbidden their private sellers from shipping via FedEx. Too slow and unreliable. Meanwhile, my latest (and last) FedEx delivery has been in Merida since last Wednesday. Nine days. Today was the last day it could be delivered, according to their schedule. This morning I got a delay notice. Go to their website and find they have no idea.

Saw a statistic on the morning news about holiday on time performance. IIRC, FedEx was the lowest at around 65%.

Have started recording HR routinely on outdoor rides and was pleasantly surprised to see 176 today on the way home. Felt good too. All this indoor activity had me thinking I had gotten too old to rev it up.

Being well rested helps. I make power, but my heart pumps like it's in some old man. Weights, bike, Christmas=Sleepy

Use an online calculator. Plug in the measurements.... ding. Spoke length

I don’t have a power reading to go with that HR, but whatever it was, I bet you can make the same W/kg for 15 min with one leg.

The delivery has been re-,programmed to arrive before January 2nd. On an order placed Dec. 3rd. It's organic whole wheat flour. One would hope it doesn't go bad in their poor storage facilities. Honestly I can't see FedEx surviving much longer. They need to be put out of their misery.

I am getting my custom orthotics today. I was fitted for them before Thanksgiving. I am not upset about the delay. In fact, I consider myself lucky. I am one of the few who have an awesome shovel. So many unfortunate people out there with sub-standard shovels.
In other news, the wounded digit is healing quite nicely. Hard to grip the bars when riding but in another day I should be ok.

Ha, I can't really rev it up anymore. I don't think I hit 180 at any point this year.
