EDIT: more info from Bob. It was made for the wife of our Pearl Izumi rep at the time. He's 6' 6" and she is 5' 1" I remember the P-I rep now, nice guy, I probably pulled out all the stops for his wife's frame.
ebay seller is not the original owner, she sold it some years ago. She rides a custom cabron frame from John Slawta (Landshark) now, a downgrade if you ask me!

For a few special bikes, I made the fancier version of the half-fast, by capping the stay with an inverted tube. Extra work for no advantage other than looking sharper (to me, de gustibus).
For my wife's frame, I did those inverted-tube caps at both ends of the seatstays, and did them for the Chainstays and fork blades too, at the dropout. A stupid amount of work but it was a labor of love.

Those non-aero brake levers are the best ever made, if you like non-aero. I'm surprised they made it onto the same bike as an 8-sp Hyperglide. I'd expect the non-aero levers on a 6-speed 7400 bike. Were they still making non-aero levers when 8-sp came out?

^^^ I have no idea, though I think the 740x series was the prettiest Shimano ever produced, so much so that at one point I was contemplating using it on the frame I built in Doug Fattic's class.(*) When researching that possibility, I stumbled on this article on the evolution of the 740x series:

As far as clickable DT shifters, the early 105s were bomb proof solid.

But.
In the later 80’s Shimano made non-aero 1050 and 6400 series levers, which work very nicely with later single and dual pivot caliper brakes. Better than 7400? Mmmmmm…I would say not as pretty but they are compatible with SLR, so there’s that.

My brake bridge is the same basic shape, but has diamond reinforcements with little windows (does have good tire clearance 32mm, just fits). The caps on the seatstays are very different, mine are scalloped. The lugs are different.
