Daughter’s 2010 Corolla driver side mirror glass was all cracked. It’s heated and electric remote. To replace the whole assembly at a shop costs several hundred bucks. I bought the replacement glass off ScamBay for $35. The problem was the replacent part’s two plastic connectors in the back of the glass were crap and small parts broke off when I tried to remount. I took the original parts and put them on the back of the replacement mirror, and after some grunting and swearing, the operation was a success.

I woke up early this morning, so I figured I'd roll out early, too. So, all ready to go at 9 AM, stepped outside, and...Rain.
Rain?
RAIN?!? In JUNE?
Yes, rain in June. It wasn't very hard rain, mind you. But there's maybe 4 months of oil on the road and with just enough wetness on the road to make it slick. And I'd ridden 27 miles yesterday. So, I resigned myself to Zwift. 2 hours on the trainer is about as much as I really want to do.
And, of course, when I came back up out of the garage, the sun was out.

Had an easy, short ride with my girl this morning, stopped at a diner for brunch and had a Greek omelet, mowed the lawns, cooled off in the pool for awhile, and now time for a nap. Good day so far.

Between that and the new Domane, it’s starting to look like the end of IsoSpeed.

The above post reminds me that I finished mowing the lawns and cut my hair today. Now enjoying baseball. No nap today.

My dad bought a Chevy C-20 Silverado crew cab pickup truck in 1977. Put a cap on the 8 foot bed. Four adults and six kids hit the road for a month, touring the Western US. Most of us kids road in the bed.

One day I’ll be riding passed a “shed market.” Stopped there in 2010 during a supported trip. It’s a cute self-service place that is on the honor system. It even had cold drinks and sandwiches. Hope I don’t blow by it.
