I've been waiting a long time for a stock frameset .... If it didn't look and ride so nicely ....
[edit]Does anyone know of people who are bailing out of their Ocra because of the delays?[/edit]

I am having problems with the clear coat bubbling and coming off my 2005 Onix, I immediately touch them up, I have around 6-7 different spots of 10 mm diameter. Anybody is having such a problem?

Have you talked to Orbea about this? What's the warranty on the frame?

I had serious paint fading on my 2005 Onix. I contacted Orbea and after inspecting my frame they covered it under warranty and actually offered me an upgrade to a 2006 Opal for a reasonable fee. I'm now riding the 06 Opal and have been completely satisfied with Orbea.

NuBiker, I would definately consider this a warranty issue. I just read a thread where the EXACT same thing was happening on an 05 Onix and Orbea replaced it with a BRAND NEW Opal frame. I'll see if I can dig up the thread.

I contacted Orbea, and spoke with the lady in charge of warranty coverage. She said that paint is covered only for one year and I should use Krylon to touch up the naked carbon replacing the clear coat. When I informed her that I am concerned about this becoming more of problem since it is increasing in frequency with time, she said if this issue arises in the future to take it to the local dealer and start the process from there.

Did you buy it locally in Santa Maria? I would take it in immediately and start the process. I honestly don't think she has a clue. How can they only warranty the paint for one year? It's obviously somekind of flaw in the manufactuering process and should be warrantied. You just have to be a bit more persistant. Imagine buying a brand new bike (expensive at that) and the paint starts falling off after a year and a half. Of course they have to warranty that. Go for it NuBiker, be persistant. Oh, we'll have to go for a ride soon.

No, I didn't buy it locally. I am waiting for another flaking spot and then I will take it to Mainstreet cycles, I have ridden with Scott the owner and his group a couple of times. We'll see if he can help me.
And yes we should go for a ride. Did you do the solvang's century? there is another century locally at the end of July, Windmill Century if you are interested, I am doing that one too.
Happy Easter fellow Orbeans.

I have owned several Orbeas and I realize that when I purchase it from my lbs, I'm purchasing the Orbea warranty, which I take the time to read. While I love the lifetime warranty they offer, it's pretty clear from their warranty statement online where they stand on paint:
Paint finish and all other original Orbea brand components, and all Orbea brand repair parts, replacement parts, and accessories, are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year from the original date of purchase.

I feel the need to repost every time I upgrade something. I think I've posted this pick in like 134 other threads already, but...

I feel the Orbea owners are being unfairly represented out there with the Cannondale, Scott, Cervelo pics threads. Re-vive!

Ok, I couldn't sell Orange Orca frameset without taking a bath on the price so I built it out. 2003 Campy Record with Eurus wheels sporting Conti Attack/Force tires. She went on her maiden voyage this past Saturday and, after tweaking and tightening, went out again today. Without further ado, here she is:
I'll post more pics after I install the computer, add new bar tape, and cut the steerer.

Anybody here spent any time on the Marmolada (or one of their similar alu/carb frames)? Care to give some thoughts into ride quality and such?

My wife has a Marmolada. It's a nice ride, but sort of heavy. Not exceptionally responsive, but an overall good bike.
