Not seeing $300 here but this looks like a lot of fun. Bad rust and probably re-chroming but interesting. Too bad there's so much dirt

For travel and shipping I built this box, it just fits under the postal limits for oversize charges:

I used to have a very similar self-built box. I use it a lot, and each and ever flight, TSA was in there. Then I found a used Co-Motion box(my bike is coupled). Not only is it easier to handle, but also no more TSA invasions. Also though, every time I've carried a non-coupled bike on an airplane, I went in prepared to pay the oversize charges, and have never been charged.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Haven't had that problem, but note to self: install some clear polycarb windows before the next trip.

One of the things my father was most proud of were the 16 times he completed TOSRV! Unfortunately health issues robbed him of one of his true loves. So his bicycles have been in storage for 20-25 years. I can assure you, once upon a time, they were top of the line!

When a conventional trainer just won't do...

... Get a Velotron Computrainer!

$1000 -- this is pretty cool -- SRAM now owns Velotron -- it looks like they might have dropped softearte development/support, which might be an issue -- runs on windows 8 to XP according to SRAM's site.

Cheap touring bike, needing a rebuild. Chainwheel choices look odd (a backwards granny set up?)

Small steel Landshark

I met a nice woman on my bike commute to work earlier this week. She was on a beautiful Landshark, so I slowed down to check it out and compliment her on the bike. Shementioned that she was looking to sell it. Original owner, and the bike is in excellent condition. We were both rushed, so I exchanged contact info and set up a time to meet. Unfortunately, the bike turned out to be too small. I suspected it would be but it was worth it to confirm. By my measurement it's about 53cm or 54cm square--wasn't quite sure how to take "effective" measurements with the extended head and seat tubes. Lovely paint and decal in terrific condition. As far as I know, the bike has not been posted to any of the typical sales sites (craigslist, ebay, etc., though I suggested she consider posting in the Paceline forum classified section, and I told the seller that I'd throw up a mention here). If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll pass along the seller's contact info. The bike is in North Oakland (Temescal neighborhood).

Note: the seller transferred the saddle to a new bike.

Hopefully the rest of the SP hardware didn't grow legs, you might want to ping and see.

FWIW, the extensions pretty much do as one would imagine, stretch it out so you can ride a smaller frame that's not as hard to wrangle as your back, arms, legs, shoulders, etc. proceed to betray you down the road.

Case in point.
