Spent a good couple hours emailing with this seller (saw ad 25 minutes after it was listed) last night and this morning. Told him I want to check it out (my size), we even had a time and place set up, I'd make an offer and have cash. He wanted to go to a bike shop to get an estimate on its 'value'. So an hour before we are supposed to meet he gets back to me with: "Sorry but Hearn Cycle made me a great offer when they appraised it, so I went for the sure thing and sold it on the spot. They might just display it until or unless a Woodrup collector asked about it.. if there even exist such collectors."
WTF??? Sure thing? How about following through on your word and meeting a buyer (me, and I'm sure there were others who contacted him), and if those fall through THEN selling it to the bike shop. It's not like I was going to offer $50 FFS.
Sorry for the rant, but the whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth.
hazetguy,
Agreed a better way to negoiate (if not price was listed in the ad) would have been to call you from the shop and let you know what they offered and give you the choice to match..I am sure the shop did not "over"pay.
Been there before.

Not the original wheels. Wonder what's under the taped water bottle cage.

I feel for you. I once thought I had a deal with a CL lister, he said he'd hold the bike for me. I was enroute and halfway there (almost 2 hours from my home) when he texted that he had sold it. I only have a finite number of hours on the planet - time wasters in particular raise my ire, and dishonesty is almost as bad... Hope karma dealt him a particularly sh*tty hand.

I don't think I've ever seen a Bianchi in that color. I really like it. I'm a sucker for a dark green bike.

(So just how does one post a CL picture? The way I used to do it no longer works.) Ok, I just hilighted and copied the pic as Thumpism suggested (thanks) rather than grab the url.

Me, too. Disassemble everything, clean the frame, then some compound, and finish with carnuba wax. I bet I could get that paint to shine again! Depending on how toast the components are, I'd put 105 from the era onto it.

I use Google Chrome as the browser of choice for this website and I can just copy the entire ad from CL and paste it here and the pix come along. I go back for a second copy to get the URL and post it in the space I left above the original paste of the ad.

As an aside, is the AD logo the best ever for a bike brand? (As for me; yes, yes it is.)

PX-10 in San Diego

https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...630668078.html'81 Peugeot PXN-10 Super Competition - $250

image 7 of 7
I have for sale a 1981 Peugeot PXN-10 Super Competition in Pearl White. This bike is the same model that professional cyclists used in 1981. I bought it a few years ago with the intention to restore it to all original parts but never got around to completing it. Unfortunately the front wheel was stolen recently and I just don't have time to track down a replacement before I need to sell it. Everything is present except for the front wheel as mentioned, and it currently doesn't have brake cables as they were a little worn out. Complete list of parts below:

Back Wheel hub: Mallaird 700 Professional Team Issue (Original)
Back Wheel: Mavic 700c (Original)
Brakes: Spindel Side Pull (Original)
Brake Levers: Spidel (Original)
Handle Bars: Nitto Handlebar
Stem: Nitto Technomic
Seatpost: SR Laprade (Original)
Seat: Don't know brand, not original
Shifter: Simplex Retrofriction (Original)
Derailleur: Peugeot branded simplex derailleur (Original)

Selling for $250 OBO.

Need to sell ASAP, contact me with an offer.

Would make a fun city bike. Freshen it up, toss on new tires and a Wald and it would be a great market rider. Imho

I definitely would take a look of it were in town.

Nice Peugeot project bike $120. Been posted for at least a month. Not easy to sell a bike like this these days I suppose. Love the cool green paint job and graphics, and just a touch of chrome on the forks. Tons of tire clearance too, I bet you could easily fit 35 mm tires under those brakes.

Bianchi Road Bike 56cm - $150 (Belmont, MA)

Selling my Bianchi road bike because I'm moving and can't take it with me. I bought this bike last year for $250. Priced to sell fast because I need to move.

Condition: This bike was probably manufactured in the late 80s or early 90s. It has held up great. Brakes and shifters are in good condition.

Components:
- Shimano 600 components (brakes and shifters).
- New Vittoria tires and thorn resistant tubes (replaced this season).
- New handlebar tape.
- Garmin quick-release quarter turn GPS mount

Color: Pearl

This bike fits people between 5ft 10in and 6ft 2in (I am 6ft 2in).
