Woodrup Leeds roadbike (British-made). Good rubber, main crank repacked a few years ago. It's wired for a speedometer, so I'll throw that in (hint: that alone is worth $30). ALso have spare tubes. Want to sell, but looking for reasonable offers.
Spent a good couple hours emailing with this seller (saw ad 25 minutes after it was listed) last night and this morning. Told him I want to check it out (my size), we even had a time and place set up, I'd make an offer and have cash. He wanted to go to a bike shop to get an estimate on its 'value'. So an hour before we are supposed to meet he gets back to me with: "Sorry but Hearn Cycle made me a great offer when they appraised it, so I went for the sure thing and sold it on the spot. They might just display it until or unless a Woodrup collector asked about it.. if there even exist such collectors."
WTF??? Sure thing? How about following through on your word and meeting a buyer (me, and I'm sure there were others who contacted him), and if those fall through THEN selling it to the bike shop. It's not like I was going to offer $50 FFS.
Sorry for the rant, but the whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth.
Agreed a better way to negoiate (if not price was listed in the ad) would have been to call you from the shop and let you know what they offered and give you the choice to match..I am sure the shop did not "over"pay.
Been there before.
Ben

Not the original wheels. Wonder what's under the taped water bottle cage.

Me, too. Disassemble everything, clean the frame, then some compound, and finish with carnuba wax. I bet I could get that paint to shine again! Depending on how toast the components are, I'd put 105 from the era onto it.

I download the best pic, copy paste title, copy and url embed link, upload pic, copy text, paste in quotes. A bit involved but it'll be here forever.

I guess someone bailed on their bid, last I saw it was at $570(+) and I thought might be a deal but no further info and for that money i'd want to see it.
Could be great deal for local resident - pick up only in Indianapolis, IN

As an aside, is the AD logo the best ever for a bike brand? (As for me; yes, yes it is.)

PX-10 in San Diego
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...630668078.html'81 Peugeot PXN-10 Super Competition - $250
image 7 of 7
I have for sale a 1981 Peugeot PXN-10 Super Competition in Pearl White. This bike is the same model that professional cyclists used in 1981. I bought it a few years ago with the intention to restore it to all original parts but never got around to completing it. Unfortunately the front wheel was stolen recently and I just don't have time to track down a replacement before I need to sell it. Everything is present except for the front wheel as mentioned, and it currently doesn't have brake cables as they were a little worn out. Complete list of parts below:
Back Wheel hub: Mallaird 700 Professional Team Issue (Original)
Back Wheel: Mavic 700c (Original)
Brakes: Spindel Side Pull (Original)
Brake Levers: Spidel (Original)
Handle Bars: Nitto Handlebar
Stem: Nitto Technomic
Seatpost: SR Laprade (Original)
Seat: Don't know brand, not original
Shifter: Simplex Retrofriction (Original)
Derailleur: Peugeot branded simplex derailleur (Original)
Selling for $250 OBO.
Need to sell ASAP, contact me with an offer.

Nice Peugeot project bike $120. Been posted for at least a month. Not easy to sell a bike like this these days I suppose. Love the cool green paint job and graphics, and just a touch of chrome on the forks. Tons of tire clearance too, I bet you could easily fit 35 mm tires under those brakes.
