in search of info for my Apollo concourse bike.

Hey everyone,

New to this forum an was just wondering if anyone can provide me with some advice an information on my Apollo bike. Anything is appreciated.

I’m planning on selling it as I’m no longer in need of this bike. But I don’t know much about it as well. So would like to find out more information to be a bit more knowledgeable when it comes to pricing it and answering any question to a perspective buyer.

thanks for all the help!

unfortunately since I’m new I don’t have 10 post, so I can’t share my images here.

Welcome to BikeForums

What will lead to better answers to your question is posting photo's. You can already do that in an album on your profile. Then someone else could assist in placing them here.

Hi all, I have an Apollo that I take out on occasions, its my "Sunday drive" bike. Its an Apollo II, Made In Japan, the crest/badge on the front is black and red on the outside and while on the inside with gold on the edges. The seat even has Apollo on the rear. One part of the handle bar that is exposed has an "N" stamped into it with the wreath around it. The detail is amazing and its a truly lovely bicycle to ride indeed. I placed a photo in my profile area.

Thanks DanseMacabre, I have made an album in my profile. So if anyone here would like to link them for me that would be great!

Thanks again!

Hello @SChis and welcome to the forum.

Here is a link to your album: https://www.bikeforums.net/g/user/568079

I have only seen a few pictures of an Apollo Concourse. It was probably manufactured between 1980 and 1983. The serial number will help to determine when the frame was manufactured. I do not know the tubeset used for the frame.

An Australian Apollo II from about 1980, based upon the "Made in Japan" label.

Thanks Hummer , I have the bike stored elsewhere so when I have the opportunity I will check for the serial number for a better indication of date.

When browsing online there doesn't seem to be much information about the Apollo Concourse. So definitely would be nice to know a bit more if anyone here has had one or just knows anything more in general. Also would appreciate any recommendation of how much it could be worth.

Hummer found the serial number located on the bottom bracket between the pedals of my Apollo concourse.

SChis, thanks for posting the serial number.

The serial number has the same format as some Apollo Cobra frames. These Cobra frames were made in Hong Kong.

Many Chimo brand frames were made by Hong Kong Bicycle. Your frame has a strong resemblance to the Chimo Centaur model, but the fork has a different crown. Both have Suntour forged dropouts. The Chimo Centaur dropouts are Suntour GTW dropout.

I cannot give a year for the bicycle based on the serial number. Some of the component on the bicycle may have date codes.
