Where is that @OldsCOOL? The view looks familiar, but I can't place it.

That explains why it looks familiar. I'm familiar with that area and have been on that road before several times (never on a bike, though).

I ride that Strava route that goes to Peninsula Rd (I'm not the best of the bunch. We have crazy strong bikers here). Gorgeous view atop the hill and a fun ride if you like good hills.

Surprisingly busy for a road in the middle of nowhere, but it was a Saturday. Had to wait to catch an empty road.

Sunday morning ride - good thing I stopped for the photo - I might have crashed into two deer that walked out in front of me and promptly disappeared before I could take the photo.

Sonoma County during Levi's Gran Fondo. This is one of the best parts of the fondo, screaming down to the water after crossing kings ridge.

I did that that too! I actually just posted some video of that same area:
Anyway, it was a great day and that ride down Meyer's grade is definitely a highlight. I really didn't want to stop to take the photo but thought it was worth capturing.

Regardless, it was an epic experience and a hell of a way to lose my century virginity. I hope to do it again next year.

IT was my first century. I did the Picolo route, last year, on my mountain bike at nearly 300 lbs. This year, I'm on a 'real' bike and down around 220. Still, 35 miles longer than any ride I'd previously done. I finished alone and without fanfare as they were packing up the festival, 10:50 after I began. I did stop A LOT and was also forced to stop for an hour when someone crashed badly up on the ridge and they had to get emergency vehicles up and down the road for him without a bunch of MAMILs clogging up the roads. I haven't heard how he was, but he was laying in the road looking pretty bad, surrounded by event staff, when I went by.

I heard about the accident and saw the emergency vehicles go by but I was luckily past it already.

Two from a weekend in Vermont-
Cheating, because it was in a car on a way to a mountain bike ride, but we came back down this road later.
A road ride along a rail trail/causeway headed out into Lake Champlain. Gorgeous weather. I'd kill to spend every fall riding bikes up there.
