When I get to jump out of a helicopter or C-17, I think, "They pay me for this?".

When I'm starving to death on 2400 calories a day, getting rained on in 40 degree weather, slogging up and down mountains, with 70lbs on my back and getting less than 2hrs of sleep a night, I think "They don't pay me nearly enough."

Makes riding my bike easy, in comparison.

okay, i have to post this. last night i found your review of microshift. i then watched a microshift video on youtube showing the throw of the levers. the ladyfriend, irritated by the clicking sound interrupting the new episode of dexter, asks me what i am doing, to which i respond: "i am thinking about getting some microshift parts for a project build, and wanted to see how microshift works." her response: "i love my microshift shifters." WHAAA??? keep in mind, she is an admitted cycling nooblet who only started riding with me two years ago and has done maybe 500 miles total since then - how is she schooling me on this? i had totally forgotten that, a year or so ago, i bought her her first real road bike and it happened to be spec'd with microshift shifters. i set up the shifting/brakes when she got it, but totally forgot about it since then. so yeah, to test out microshift, all i had to do was ride the bike next to mine in the garage. after some riding around the neighborhood, i have to concur, it works very well with crisp shifting.

New bike. Came in just over 27lbs as-is. The bike will be my trail and race bike for XC and super-d events.

Looking forward to seeing you kick ass again. I still remember your post on how you started doing leg presses and scared the crap outta the football players there.

I have one of those too.

On a 250m it's pretty tough to check out the numbers but in any case, the good ole UCI says you can't have a computer that's visible for the rider in a track event. NAt's enforces this rule as does worlds so I had to figure out a spot to mount the head unit; this was the cleanest aerodynamically and mechanically.
