3:15 in the rain today. At least it wasn't too cold. I didn't eat breakfast and only ate 5 fig newtons during the ride. I'm about to eat my computer

I was going to ride the trainer today since it got all February out, but then I got like really sleepy. So instead I'm going to ride tomorrow when it's nice out and spend the rest of today watching the new season of Archer.

No racing for me this weekend so I decided to finish off my legs with another climbing group ride, 70 miles, 7000 ft, 260 TSS. Power down about 10% after yesterday but still got in over an hour of Z4+

Biggest week in months:
292 miles
18 hours
21,000 ft
~950 TSS (estimating commute rides)

Me too. Especially if getting hit by a bus means you feel like you ate 20 chocolate chip cookies, and you feel that way because you did.

Raced 5 times this weekend, including my first ever TTT. It was one loop of my team's circuit course. 4:36, so I couldn't get a 5 minute interval, but looking at Golden Cheetah, I see that my 4:30 power was 105% of my previous best. That hurt.

I climbed OLH today, not looking at the clock or the power, just going "hard". 16:45. Meh, I could cut 20s off that with a few more days. I think I will, as climbing is easy for me to get power and a workout. It helps that the loop from my house is about 23 miles, 2k feet and I can get it in at around 1:10.

If legs are still sore before bed, do you plan on more rest the next day, or set the alarm, go out in the morning and hope for recovery?

does this happen to anyone else?

before anyone asks, it's not cardiac arrest, it's the hrm... today, for example, it acted like that until I stopped at an intersection, and then it was normal..

I've also had this going on

Usually when that starts happening to me, it's a sign that it's time for a new HRM strap (not the monitor itself, just the strap it snaps into)

What's so special about the strap, and will manufacturers usually sell you extra straps?

They seem to wear out, in my experience. You can easily get replacement straps from Garmin and Polar, I order them on Amazon. I have a Garmin HRM, but the Polar straps work fine with it and seem to last longer, also I think they're a bit cheaper. I have to replace the strap once or twice a year, but the actual HRM I've had for 3-4 years and it's still going strong.

I don't think so. It wasn't an official USAC event. AMain won the men, Rio won the women's. All I cared about was beating the Rio 2 and Rio women's teams.

60 min on the trainer with a 20 min FTP interval that I suck so much at indoors.

I am very glad I am not the only one who rode inside today. 3X20 Sweet Spot while watching the Tour of Romandie was much better than dodging cars on narrow roads.

I thought there was some saying about April Showers and May Flowers. Guess Mother Nature missed that memo.

I get to choose whether to do 5' intervals on the Blue Hills access road or in my basement. 5' intervals indoors totally suck but still might win.

yesterday 30 minutes at 90%, 2 hrs on bike. The wind becomes a challenge when you have to turn and adjust cadence/power
Today, commute easy recovery

Legs are still garbage. ARGH. Trying to convince my muscles to start making glycogen. I'm going to stick with it and see if a few days of riding turns it around. I'm not allowed to freak out about it unless I've made no progress by next Sunday.
