I bought a set of 13mm Velox rim strips along with some brake & shifter cables to service a friend's road bike. It's going to need a lot of TLC as it's been neglected a long time.

After a year I figured the bar tape would need changing on my defy so I Bike24'd some blue lizard skins and blue shimano cable sets, put them in the pile of parts to get around to installing. That was in 2014, finally got around to changing it this weekend. Really impressed by how long the stock giant tape lasts.

Just purchased off eBay... 2009 Dynamic Synergy: a purpose built Alfine-8 equipped road bike with a custom brifter. Aluminum frame with carbon fork... It should arrive in about 10 days.

12-32 and 13-28 cassettes and freewheels, to replace the 13-24's I'd been riding. On the one hand, maybe it's to encourage me to spin more, mash less, and conserve my knees. OTOH, mebbe I'm just getting older.

But I noticed checking my Strava times I was matching my typical road bike climbs on my heavier hybrid with a 13-28 cassette, even with platform pedals on the hybrid (only the road bike has clipless). Seemed to confirm my hunch that I was less efficient on the road bike with the 13-24 freewheel.

And I'm converting the hybrid to a sorta-path-racer, although the frame won't have that long wheelbase. Recently installed Nitto albatross bar to replace the riser -- much nicer. Gonna try 'em flipped next. And narrower tires (700x32 Conti Sport Contact II, to replace the excellent Conti Speed Rides in 700x42) on the hybrid so I can fit an old set of SKS Bluemel fenders again. Want to be ready for what looks like a wet, warm winter. I don't like taking the road bike with slicks in the rain, but I don't want to use that as an excuse not to ride outdoors.

Just bought a Campag Veloce 12/23 10 sp cassette - my favorite ratio range - don't need it yet, as I'm maybe 1/2 way through the expected lifespan of my current 12/23 but I want to ensure that the replacement is available when the time comes. Low tech steel, all separate cogs, but only ~$40, which is the right price for a wear item like a cassette.
Lezyne CO2 inflator head for threaded cartridges - trying to reduce the size of the size/weight of my saddle bag, so replacing the larger and heavier "full container" inflator that I currently use.
Cycliq Fly6 rear light/camera. The light is great, but I have still to get a sense of its endurance. It supposedly signals current battery level with a number of beeps when powered on or off, but while the beeps tell me I have 50-75% left, the bluetooth app says the thing is fully flat. It'll certainly last a 2 hr spin with lights and camera, but I'm unsure about its ability to last for a 4-5 hr ride - maybe camera only.

I got an Ultegra 6700 groupo (crankset, break calipers, brifters, rd and fd, cassete) for cheap and will update the Sekai.
I had a drop handlebar I got from eBay and waiting on a rear hub for 10 speed to arrive.
Need to get the spokes for rear wheel rebuild (my first time ) and an blaze-on to clamp adapter for the fd.
It will be a fun rainy season

Always trust your gut. When I test rode both bikes, I really liked the Transonic, but went with the SL as be a better "all around" bike. Rode the SL for a couple of days and it just wasn't doing it for me. Swapped it for the Transonic, grinning from ear to ear. Just as comfortable as the SL, imo.

Wore them during my 1.75 mile commute this morning. Really like them. They are comfortable and really light. Despite looking into the sun a couple of times they really cut down the glare. They don't darken as fast I imagined they would, but I am fine with that because I don't like really dark glasses unless it's blindingly light out. The distance and reading portions are perfectly sized for me. I only need the latter to read cue sheets and the computer. I do need to pop out the insert and give it a good wiping since it was handled so much during the fitting process.

I had been using a cheap quality (though not inexpensive) set from China. The corner of one side of the insert broke after only a couple of years. Got a second pair and the same thing happened in about the same time frame. Also, on both pairs the surfaces of the inserts and the lenses seemed to degrade over time.
