Gordie's Bicycle Shop, Hayden Lake Idaho... holding on, if faintly, on this 1977 Takara ten speed. Above it, is the pulverized Takara tubing material sticker doppelganger, doing it's best to trick the novice consumer into thinking this frame is made from Reynolds 531.

I don't have one on my bikes from the Shop I worked in, but I still have one of the "alternate" stickers that the shop made made for racers they sponsored. We had rolls of them so they really wound up everywhere.

These guys are awesome! I posted a pic of my bike on their FB page and they sent me a message asking for my address. They sent me some info on the shop, and some stickers including 2 brand new shop stickers that are almost identical to the one on my bike! I just thought that was really cool, and if I'm ever in that area I'll stop in and buy something for sure!
I have a new connection to Ft. Collins CO with this new to me Ironman that has both the shop sticker (Recycled Cycles) and the city registration sticker in a unique position, upside down on the top tube. Also made a new BF friend from Ft. Collins with @fleslider helping me get this bike to NC - thanks again Chris !
Edit to show the Bike Forums sticker from @speedevil - thanks Dale !

Almost went up to Fort Collins & didn't. If I had known about Recycled Cycles, I probably would have. 😉
I did go through Littleton, but no luck finding my "old" bike shop.

The shop stickers I'm waiting to see in this thread are:
(1) Cycles and Sports, Wisconsin Ave, Washington DC;
(2) Big Wheel Bikes, 33rd St, Georgetown DC.
There was a Schwinn dealer on Connecticut Ave, Chevy Chase DC, that i'd also like to see; but I don't remember what they were called.

I remember that shop! A couple doors up from the Avalon Theater. But I don't remember what it was called. Nothing as clever as Circle Cycle I'm sure, probably just Chevy Chase Bikes. I had a Schwinn Speedster from there. My sister had a Breeze. My brother had a Continental.
Edit...
Ha! Look what Google turned up!

You're right, I did see that! That's from the original location of the shop, way down town (like, near Logan Circle, I think) and way before my time.

Evanston Cyclery is out of business now. After I moved to Evanston in 1999 I visited a few times. I don't recall ever buying anything. They had several Sting-Rays on display. This sticker is on an old Schwinn Collegiate.

Does anyone recognize this one? I wonder if it’s not a sticker used by The Bike Gallery out of Portland, OR. Unfortunately the local is illegible due to damage at the bottom of the sticker. As found on a very original ‘84 Trek 510.

That’s what I was hoping to hear. I’ reside in Eugene, and recently purchased the bike from a collector out of eastern Oregon. I’d never heard of the shop myself, but Googling “The Bike Gallery,” led me to the Portland born business which seems to have built up quite a history, reputation, and newer locations since 1974. I search further, but I did wonder if there were perhaps under the same name over the decades. Anyway, I’m taking delight knowing that my Trek appears to be in its lifelong home state as a Waterloo, WI transplant. I’ll have to try to visit the shop next I’m up north. Thank you for the confirmation by the way.

Here is one from the shop wehre I purchased my first derailleur geared bicycle, a white U08, in 1965.
Harding's Westwood Cyclery in California, near the UCLA campus.
IIRC the owner/founder Charlie Harding retired and moved home to Eire about 1991.
The transfer resides on a Meteor Franco Suisse (Carlton) from the mid-1960's which is in the collection of a friend.

Wow! I had a chrome-plated 531 Meteor for a while. Guy brought it in to have the wheels rebuilt and never picked it up. I paid the tab to buy it. That's a pretty rare brand in this country.
