The top tube is too large, otherwise I could be getting in trouble here.

Is there anything to indicate that's a JT other than the decals? It looks like a resto, and it occurs to me that if it didn't have those decals, I wouldn't know what it was.

The seller also has photos of Norman Taylor working on it before the repaint. It sure looks like the same bike.

I should have looked more closely at the photos - I stopped before the ones you mentioned.

The top tube is equivalent to 55 or 56 cm in standard geometry, notice how slack the seat tube is. Also note that it is shown with a forward offset seatpost in the original picture.

The top tube length is an artificial measurement. All things being equal, as the seat tube angle becomes more steep (vertical), you set back your seat to maintain your normal position with respect to the bottom bracket. Conversely, as it gets slacker, you either use a no-setback seatpost or even a forward-set seatpost. So in a bike like this, you are sitting more forward in reference to seat lug, which is why the top tube measures longer.

I understand...the seatpost expectation is different. Sorry for being slow.

Step 2: Ignore tag...
I have a friend who bought a Merino wool pullover and washed it with regular clothes... then his wife had a Merino wool pullover and washed it with regular clothes... now their 7 year old son has a sweet felted wool pullover...

Because this is NOT a sizing/fit thread I will NOT be replying to any response.
