Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You do know it’s freezing in Dulles too right?

My yard is currently crunchy.

I believe this qualifies under “addiction”

No, minimum of 30 miles while sick gets you in. It’s in the fine print.

Freezing... almost everywhere. Yes. I am not comfortable in Texas in the freezes since Uri. I want to be out of it. I also want to see my grandmother, who is deteriorating enough she talks in present-tense about needing to help the social services children she worked with when I was small.

Looks like I win the Wi-Fi speed contest. Who would have thought that the Mbps in podunk-ville, IL would be so quick?

I hear those plastic body panels pop right out, if they don’t crack first. Might need a little touch up paint too.

Are you sure that’s not someone’s yard art? It is Portland.

Sierra hotel. I have been in the front office in the conditions experienced last night, and have landed not thinking much of it. I can’t recall ever being in the back, I was expecting to hear the engines spool up at any second followed by a climbing sensation. I honestly thought the crew was gunna give up and who knows what our alternate airport was, but he pushed through and got us home.

Edit: Let me put it this way. I had to physically work to keep my car on the road on my 50 mile drive home from the airport.

It’s really cold and windy out. My bike club has a Zwift “club” with a group ride at 8AM so I can get some fake miles in this morning.

Let’s see, there was the group that complained that it’s always winter on the northern hemisphere during the festive 500. Australians have it easy.

Let’s see, oh yea, Rapha shouldn’t do this over Christmas because “I” have commitments. Wish I caught his name, I would like to meet the person responsible for gravity.

There was the person complaining that it was too many KM in the festive 500. The festive 500 should be actually 200 km.
