Kinda hot, for it's age... wait, is that a TWELVE speed? Fancy!
Reminds me of my first bike - a Fuji Gran Tourer, "champagne" color, which I thought was especially hot at the time. I still think it's a pretty classy color, like "Platinum" (which yours is?), for a steel bike.

Got myself a new Deda superlaggero stem which has a lower 8 degree. Closer to that flat angle I was after. Made some adjustments to my bars/hoods as well. I'm in love

As slammed stems are less aero 90% of the time, that distracts me. I know this is a looks first, function 2nd thread, but that distracts me. The bike is well put together with nice stuff.

how is a slammed stem less aero without seeing the rider on the bike? Its not like there is a ton of saddle to bar drop

Although I said it wasn't the components, who knows - maybe if the crank and derailleur had a touch of (Super) Record red, that would have been enough to excite me and make me say the bike was hot.

Although I'm not a fan of the components, that's not it; I can't really find any flaws in its appearance. It's not 'hot' simply because it's just too handsome. The construction is dignified and the gray tone-one-tone look is strikingly tasteful. It's quiet, it doesn't sing loudly or say "isn't this fun?" It's all fine and coolness; there's no room for bold or hotness about it.

Hmmm ok. Still odd to hear someone say it isn't hot based on it looking too good. But I'm looking into into getting myself Etap. Not Sure when it will happen but I already have some things lined up for it. Maybe that will help tickle your fancy!?Lol ;-)

That puts more arm pushing the wind. It would be better to have forearms parallel to the ground from an aero standpoint.
If your forearms are parallel to the ground on that bike then good, and you are an exception and the fit is correct.
If not, then the stem is too low. That seems to be what I see too often. So I associate it with a bad fit/setup and it detracts from the hotness. I don't like slammed stems. I would find a slightly smaller frame with a bit of spacing more pleasing. That frame looks to be at the limit, so it brings my attention to that. That is how I'm wired, so I just commented.
I really like the wheels and the Vittoria's.
The staging is very good. I'm not good at that. I just take pictures of parts.

IMHO, this is what a race bike looks like - big drop, long slammed stem and aero wheels. And that's what makes it hot in my book.
If the bike fits, I suggest you take the internet fitting / positioning comments in stride.

Typically a rise stem, or a cm+ spacing and forearms bent. These guys could go lower, they don't.

I get it. But the image you shared in that link is not how Pro's or anyone rides all the time. I can easily get in that riding position as well when I need to do so, but that position isn't required for most riding. There are 10 photos to every 1 of your photo examples that show pro's riding in the hoods with arms nearly locked out or just slightly bent. Not going to get in a pissing match about it though. You have your reasons why you dont get a ***** while looking at my set up. No worries here. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion.
That was not a comment about how cool your bike looks or well staged.

In a way, that bike is like someone's mom, and I don't think it's right to call someone's mom 'hot,' no matter how good looking or pretty she is. People would get the wrong idea because 'hot' expresses the wrong idea.

But I have to take it back a notch to "warm" because of the half-measure stem you put on.
It's totally distracting to see the horizontal line running through your bars, hoods & top-tube get interrupted by that flaccid-looking thing. Bleh.
You should have gone full-monty with a -17deg rise.
