Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New stem is dope. Super stiff, and super low. Feels like i’m dragging my chin along the ground now. The blender system was a bonus. Was able to mount my garmin unit to the stem, which frees up my mount for the Ritchey. I wish I could mount the light too, like I have it on my Madone, but this is the original blender system so I think you can only mount one or the other.

Should be able to do both with the Duo Base that fits your stem.

I've average at best at clipping in, but with Shimano there's no point in looking down. Just got to learn to do it by feel.

There are dual Blendr mounts available, as long as it's the one that just clips in the gap of the face plate.

For which bike? $400 is a lot for carbon bars, but there are always carbon bars out there from legit manufacturers at $120 or so. I would do that rather than $50 bars from who-knows-where.

This. I found my Trek carbon bars on Ebay for far less than retail price. A Trek dealer was moving old inventory.

Don't feel to bad. I almost fell over reaching to hit a crosswalk button a couple of weeks ago. Ended up hugging the pole with one foot clipped.

But, I'm not a racer.

The Older Boy is working an early shift this week - 6 AM. And his new store is NOT along a simple public transit route, so I'm driving him. Which means the last 3 days I've been up at 5:30, then home at no later than 6:05. The last two days, I've been hitting the virtual road by 7:00 and getting in an hour or more's ride on Zwift. I confirmed that I can go at least 90 minutes with nothing but coffee, and it's not a bad start to the day. Maybe better than riding in the evenings, I dunno. But I'm still a night owl - my 'awakeness' actually increases after 9 PM, which makes going to bed early tough. I thought Monday night or last night I'd be so exhausted from lack of sleep that I'd be able to crash early, but no.

This can't be good for me, overall. As Benjamin Franklin never said, "Early to rise and late to bed makes a man healthy, wealthy, and dead."
