The Fall season means migration season for many of nature's species, including hawks. Many of the mature Red-tail hawks don't bother to migrate, but the immature ones like this guy who haven't yet mastered their hunting skills usually are better off making the trip south.

So, yeah. The gloomy 50° outside has me feeling like a lazy homebody. Rather than veg, though, I'm going to completely overdress for the conditions so that I can stay toasty while I go for a leisurely ride.

Next week's weather looking good for my favorite local-ish three-day trip. Port Jervis, NY, to home, following the Delaware River for much of the trip. Highs in the low 60s. Lows in the low 40s.

I poked around in the 33 and it seems like a lot of the same people still racing. And some have stopped. Interesting.
In other news, it's Justin Zanik's birthday. Interesting fact - he was Justin Szajnuk in college, but that must have been too difficult to handle in the NBA. We're planning our college reunion next year around the Jazz schedule.

90's the rest of this week too. Normal is 77 this time of year. Chilly.
I will be breaking out the awesome Marigold jacket soon.
My slow internet is $90/month. We use YouTube TV so no cable content charge.
In other news, my seatpost is in Charleston, SC!

Speaking of expensive, since the partner is gone, are you going to get back with Troy and the bunch? I saw them last weekend, and yes, there's a lot of pink going on there. Mike Z is back on the bike, and he was rocking the old school Psimet kit. Good to see.

My ride last night, in a nutshell. Dark, cold, wet, and blurry. I'm sure this other guy thought the same.

First night will be at really nice New Jersey state forest campground along the river. When I stayed there in June of 2018 during a tour home from northern Vermont a young bear cub walked across my path as I was riding back to my site from the shower. Mom was nowhere to be seen, which was scary but also sad. Hope the poor thing was not orphaned. Next task was to cook dinner, which included sautéed garlic and shallots. You can bet I kept my head on a swivel.
