^^ Georgia is pretty but the beautiful Colorado countryside kills me every time I see photos.

how do those Resolutes roll on tarmac? It seems I might have better luck rolling on them than finding the BB height candidate bike for 650x47 Byway

The Resolute roll surprisingly well on tarmac. I do have two Wheelsets. I try to ride as little tarmac as possible on them, but they do fine. I'd guess I've done about 100 miles total getting to and from gravel.

Not quite a gravel ride, but first non-paved adventure for this bike. I've been waiting too long and spring is taking its time getting here.
The off-road portion was mostly icy ruts in the shape of human and dog prints covered with a skiff of snow. I'm not sure if those conditions resemble anything you're likely to encounter any other time of year but I stayed upright and it was the most fun I've had on a bike in a while.

It wasn't that deep so through the soft bits I was getting traction on the gravel underneath. But if it had been a few degrees warmer (it was -8 C) it would have been a real mess and less fun as you suggest.

The bike is a 2018 Giant TCX Advanced SX which you can look up online, though the paint job coloring looks a bit different than it does on the website.
Whenever I take pictures during mid-afternoon rides I have a hard time knowing if they're any good until I can get inside and look at my phone without any glare. It's made worse when there's snow everywhere too. I had a few other pictures I took during the ride and they were equally poor.

I put that tape on when I switched bars, I didn't love the width or drop on the stock ones. I will warn you that the stock tape was the most miserable tape I have ever tried to get off. My plan was to reuse it on the new bars but it was so sticky it ripped in several spots and left a ton on the bars.

still doing some testing, today's lunch ride TT, 50psi in both tires, goal was to ave 20mph similar to the aero road bike I used last Monday. 159bpm on the fat tires vs 143bpm on aero bike 25c tires last monday.
While I'm happy I can maintain the same overall result in speed. The effort to do was pretty different. Hard to break 23mph with these tires today, 21mph was good hard tempo for me.
They roll fast almost like road tire like, I didn't get to test handling though since it's a straight road for the most part. I'll try 55psi in the rear tomorrow to see if effort to maintain tempo speed will be different then 166bpm needed today.
I have a 140ish mile ride coming up on Sunday, 50ish of which will be on the dirt, mostly loose over hard pack with few sand and rocky sections. I've been running 28c tires for it in the past yrs but want to try something different, I hope the 38s will let me be fresher towards the end of the ride, usually take me about 10hours pedal time to finish
more last minute testing to do this week, while trying to taper for sunday's efforts
