Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The Kicker bike is bike-shaped, has real shift levers, and can simulate multiple gearings electronically, among other features. It actually looks really nice.

Oh, and in addition to a trip to the LBS, to pick up my second studly tire, I went to the LWWS to check out some wood and pick up a Japanese marking knife that was on sale. I gotta say it was a good day.

The Saturn stays in the driveway but both cars go in the garage if snowstorms.

I am in the midst of a string of acrimonious emails among members of an academic committee which I was foolish enough to get myself elected to. In the most recent one, the writer took massive umbrage at having his last email referred to as a "missive."

You can tell the Mrs. I said so.
The rjones28 fleet over-winters in my office. A couple of bikes (the Fatboy and the Schwinn) hang out in the mud room for rapid winter deployment.

The stock, or lack thereof, situation aside, none of the first generation smart indoor bikes seem to have solid workings and solid qa/qc. Wahoo seems to have the best “replace on a phone call”, zero cost to owner if the replacement is shipped to an LBS ($1000 if shipped to address though)

But I agree with WhyFi, it’s a lot for me, and ease of adjustability for multiple users seem to be a bit optimistic.

Why? Were they dis-missive?

AG wants the Stages bike for fit purposes. The ones that bottom out at 170mm crankarms are non-starters for that.

Oh, I am not planning to buy an indoor bike and if I did, it might not be a Wahoo. I just like it more than the Peloton and all which it entails.

If I had one “money no object, space galore” option, I’d love to try this thing. But alas, it’s not even available to purchase in the US.
