Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Should use antiseize compound then your chain. Bike. And you can all be silver.

Buy it. Then tell her she isn't allowed to use it. Then she'll be sorry.

I dislike the look of top tube bags almost as much as handlebar bags. However, I can see the practical application for keeping snacks handy on long events.

I do like Keith David. Wish he had had more screen time. His small part in "There's Something About Mary" is terrific. "Don't worry. She's a dental hygienist. She'll know exactly what to do."

Though the great advantage of stuffing bars & gels & stuff in your jersey pockets is you never have to see 'em.

I started one meal a day 2 weeks ago, weekends 2 meals if I have breakfast. And have been trying to do one hour a day on the bike, with floor exercises after. Push ups, sit ups, planks . Still doing women's push ups due to my shoulders, but they're getting better. Going to drop the weight and get back into form. Christmas screwed me up a bit, but I'm back now.
Dad came home Thursday before Christmas. Mom
took him for blood work today because he is sleeping too much. She thinks his counts crashed again, but we will see what the blood work says.
Took Mom for an mri Saturday on her shoulder. Looks like Robomoms getting an upgrade in February. 6 weeks of recovery.

Good luck with all that! How much weight are you trying to drop, if I may?

Had my CT angiogram, which showed normal vessels with my neck in a neutral position, meaning, at least to me, that I'm not a set-up for a brainstem stroke if I don't look to the right. I will have to ask the surgeons whether to repeat the study with my neck twisted. That would be intensely unpleasant and scary. Also emailed a big dizziness expert I know at Johns Hopkins, who said, yeah it could be neuromuscular, but you'd have to rule everything else out first.

A fragment of underdone potato! Now Jacob Marley's ghost will be haunting me!"

TOB and I had set out on Christmas Eve Eve to find Christmassy treats and last minute stuff, so we ended up with 3 desserts - a Christstollen, a plum pudding, and a pecan pie. It's a mistake to let the two of us go buy Christmassy treats together. We damn near also bought a panettone. So, between leftover rib roast, leftover potatoes, leftover stuffing (did I mention that I made stuffing, even though no bird for dinner?), and leftover Christmas desserts, I'm gonna have to ride several centuries just to claw my way back down to 200 lbs, let alone the 190 I was dreaming of.

And it's raining. A lot.
I remember a winter in Sacramento where we didn't see the sun for six weeks.

I remember a SUMMER in San Francisco where we didn't see the sun for a month. It was when The Older Boy was born. May explain his affinity for clouds and rain. I told him he should move to Seattle. But he's still here.
