From the recent light tour from Atlanta to Alabama down the Silver Comet. 130 miles full of perfect weather, interesting people, wonderful scenery, and NO CARS. We rode on 2011 Specialized Tricross and 2001 Cannondale ST700.

I am working on a light off road/fireroad setup to take to the Allegheny Nat Forest this summer. The load will be a little smaller in the summer as temps were in the 40's when I left.

Ernie,

How much time does it take to charge your HTC Thunderboft via SON28 from dead to full? Also what usb setup are you using to achieve that?

Also on your water bottle setup, do you think that the bottles will stay secure on long washboard dirt roads?

Gary

Ernie,

Another comment as I've not seen many others with Jtek, Shimanolo set up. I've been using that set up for 4 years and on 3 bikes and currently completing a new build using jtek, Veloce escapes, XTR rd, Phil Touring/ Shimano 9's 11-34. Great function.

I use the e-werk for a USB connection. It seems to take about 3 hours to charge my phone from dead to full charge.

The bottles are very secure in the tallac bottle cages.

Yes the shiftmate seems to work well.

My new LHT has about 1200 miles now and all the gadgets seem fine but i'll know much more about my equipment once I start touring on June 21st.

You can't see my tent, its in the bag!

The son hub however works great. Lights when needed and the ability to charge my cell phone.

Hi Twerney , its actually a Peakland eyam 200 its really quite small it can only sleep me really comfortably , you could get 2 in at a squeeze if you leave gear in porch area.

stj78 - I have been hauling my boys on tours when each hit 5 years old. Now they are 6 and 10 and are seasoned tourers, helping with route planning, camping, etc. Has been working great. We ride a tandem with a TAB now. How old are your kids?

Loaded '00 GT Rebound/Xtracycle. Left Pensacola, FL on 5/2 arrived 300 some miles later in Starkville, MS on 5/7.
This is basically all my life's accumulations that I could move with me (clothes mainly) aside from winter gear.

I have a Brunton solar charger that I can use to charge a cell phone every 4 or 5 days.

Cheers

Out riding around on the Towpath today. Front loaded is as "fully loaded" as I get, at least for now. I'm bringing the camera next time, the Droid pics aren't as nice.
