I bought real Oakley cycling glasses, right?
I've been planning on buying Oakley Jawbreaker sunglasses for a while now for biking. I was trying to convince myself they were worth $200, and I almost bought them, but the high price kept making me put off the purchase.
I was browsing through sunglasses on Amazon today, and I found Oakley Jawbreaker Green Fade Black Iridium Polarized sunglasses for sale for only $115. I thought the price might be good to be true, but I checked and there were many sellers all selling them for under $140 and there were several around the $115 price point.
I figure they must be last years model or something. Anyways, I bought them.
They'll be coming this coming Monday, any reason for me to be concerned they will be fake Oakley's when I open the package on Monday?
I really want a pair of cycling glasses for road biking, and these Jawbreakers seem like a good deal.

Oakley has a super-strict MAP policy, but their margins are pretty big, so people who aren't worried about getting their dealer status revoked can sell them for pretty cheap and still turn a profit. Markup is about 100% on current models, so $115 for last years or overstocks would not be unheard of.

You have to be careful with third party sellers on Amazon but if you bought directly from them I wouldn't be worried.

Then you have no worries-- if a plain white box with Faux-kleys shows up, you can return it without issue.

In my experience with Oakley, the lenses will be the determining factor. Genuine Oakley lenses will be crystal clear, with no distortion of vision anywhere on the lens-- which is tough with lenses so curved-- and the coating will be perfect. Oakley's QC is excellent. Ive been wearing a pair of prescription Oakleys for about 12 years now, and the lenses are second to none. As far as the frames, you probably wouldn't be able to tell authentic from a good knockoff. Some of the counterfeits are using genuine molds.

Just picked up POC DO Raceday for $92 at Competitive Cyclist. These were well over $200 pre-sale and are superior to my Oakley Flaks in comfort, and especially, Zeiss quality glass.

my buddy got some of the jawbreaker look alikes off amazon for $14....they have an almost identical fit and feel to the real ones, they just don't say Oakley on them. I have ordered a pair now also.

they are likely real.
I got both. 16 bucks Asia specials and the real ones.
The fake once came with multi-lens and a multi-lens storage case.
The real one only came with one lens and a standard Hard case.
I have NEVER seen Oakley offer multi-lens for Jawbreaker in 1 package nor a multi-lens case.
The fake one also came with paper work and a Oakley cleaning cloth and bag.
Fake: at least the seller did not advertise as oakley.
I got both. 16 bucks Asia specials and the real ones.

I have owned or shot with hundreds of camera lenses through the years. From Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Leica, Zeiss, Rodenstock, Schneider, Olympus, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, and Pentax. Leica glass has the prettiest color while Zeiss has the best contrast. The optics on these are better than the Oakleys. Now run along, pissy boy.
