S-Works Road vs Sidi Ergo 2 ?
S-Works is cheaper and lighter and is very stiff ... but it's not Sidi
i haven't tried putting them on but just holding the S-Works shoe it feels incredibly light ( i have no use for such lightness ) and the padding on it seems extremely minimal ( i am looking for a comfortable shoe, not a racing shoe )
what say you ?

As has been gaining popularity in running shoes, isn't there a "barefoot" cycling shoe coming out? Maybe you should consider it.

I had Sidi Ergo 2 and put them aside in 2008 in favor of Specialized S-Works shoes. That said, I do not think the 2010 S-Works shoes are as good as the 2007-2009 shoes (aside from the material being easier to keep clean). They are not as comfortable and do not tighten as uniformly or securely. They also seem to have gotten the shoe lighter by just removing material, contributing to a worse fit (I have worn 42's in Specialized for 3 years and this year they don't fit as well - loose feel).
The "improvement" of the 2010 S-Works BOA system - able to loosen the shoe in micro-adjustments - was great on the surface, but has made for a more finicky and, overall, worse system.

I feel like the benefits that a "barefoot" shoe would provide to running would not carry over to cycling. Cyclists want stiff shoes to improve efficiency since all flex is movement that did not translate to more power output... or something. I could be wrong.

To the OP...you wrote you have no use for lightness and are looking for comfort, and wrote that the Specialized shoe is light and has little padding...sounds like you want the Sidis.
