Car-free day. Commute, and picked up my son in his trailer afterwords. 10-15mph winds were fun. If the weatherman's predictions are right (lol, I know, I know...) then I'll hit my goal with 2 more commutes this week and a nice group ride this weekend. Hoping to get my mom back on her back at some point as well

did the run of the climbs in my area and hit another road, Harriman Hill Rd for additional challenge. Totaled 20.2 miles and 1178 ft of elevation gain.
Goal: 400 miles; 8,000 ft climbing

Not feeling like I am going to make my 400 mile goal this month since I only have a week to go and have a 66 mile ride on Sunday. I am thinking of resting before the ride and calling Thursday as my last workout day before the event. Weather also might hinder a bit but I am set with rain jackets so as long as it is not crazy, I might still go out.

So, I did hit my goal. So, I'm going for the stretch goal of 250 mi. I'm also at 4072' of elevation, so I should be close on my goal of 1 mile of elevation.

This morning I had to leave earlier so I couldn't do my full hill workout. I cut one one or two but kept some goodies in. While on my ride through Long Island's Nassau County suburbs, I ended up nearly running into something I never thought I would see - a DEER!! I was going down hill in Wet Hills on CHichester Rd and there it was standing in the road. Luckily it saw me got a little nervous and instead of staying put , it bolted up someones large front lawn and out of site. Pretty cool. Got in another 14.1 miles and 774 ft of climb.

Wonderful day for a commute, so I extended the ride home with a trip up past the zoo. Also picked up my son in his trailer, for a car-free day, followed by dinner on the grill. I will take more like this, please
