Double wrapped bar tape, mistake question
Hey everyone quick question yesterday I double wrapped my bar tape and the more I think about it, it's way too thick. I only did it yesterday, do you think its okay to take it off, remove the original layer, and redo it with a single wrap? Some of the adhesive may be gone and I really don't wanna buy another 2 rolls.
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.

The adhesive is really not required. The problem you may encounter depending on the tape you used is that it will get torn up when you remove it. I have retaped bars with the same tape, and have been about 50% successful.

Buying really inexpensive bar tape helps relieve any worries like this; I've never been fanatic about what bar tape I have, since I always wear padded gloves anyway.
But as you've already found out, if you're careful removing / unwrapping it, it'll be fine. Doing it in a warm environment helps, and just don't pull hard, fast, or force anything.

Did you double-wrap correctly? If you want to try again, take off the top tape and put it back on after first cutting off about an inch of the original wrap from the ends of the bar.

Yeah I agree. They're both on there because I did a 40 mile social ride recently and had it on freewheel. I haven't ridden since so I haven't changed it back. Although I still do run the front brake on fixed. I'm not cool enough to ride no brakes no helmet.

Once again beauty is in the eye of the beholder it doth seem (and the specific design look of that bike)... Don't get me wrong I like hoods on drop bars AND sometimes I like this look too!

Beauty os in the eye of the beholder... Sometimes I like brake levers with HOODS on the drop bar and sometimes I like this look too.
Sometimes we can like variety and variations depending on the specific BIKE.
